Paramount in talks to open its books to Sony, Apollo, sources say May 8, 2024 07:22PM

(Reuters) - Paramount Global is in talks about opening its books to a consortium of Sony Pictures and buyout firm Apollo Global Management interested in acquiring the U.S. media company, people familiar with the matter said on Wednesday.

US FAA delaying start of new air traffic control rest requirements May 8, 2024 07:20PM

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The U.S Federal Aviation Administration said Wednesday it is delaying requiring air traffic controllers to get 10 hours off between shifts and 12 hours off before a midnight shift.

FAA Administrator Mike Whitaker said on April 19 the new rules would take effect in 90 days.

Sony and Apollo plan to break up Paramount, NYT reports May 8, 2024 07:20PM

(Reuters) - Sony Pictures Entertainment and private equity firm Apollo Global Management plan to acquire Paramount Global for $26 billion and break up the company, the New York Times reported on Wednesday, citing people familiar with the deal discussions.

UK refuses to sign global vaccine treaty, The Telegraph reports May 8, 2024 07:07PM

(Reuters) - Britain is refusing to sign the World Health Organization's (WHO) pandemic accord because the country says it would have to give away a fifth of its vaccines, the Telegraph reported on Wednesday.

Britain and NATO allies must spend more, be tougher,  UK's Cameron to say May 8, 2024 07:06PM

LONDON (Reuters) - Britain's foreign minister, David Cameron, will urge its fellow NATO members to meet their pledge to spend 2% of GDP on defence, and to be tougher and more assertive with adversaries, in a speech to be delivered on Thursday.
