VIENNA (Reuters) - Austria's Beer Party will run in this year's parliamentary election even though it's still well short of its own funding target, its leader said on Tuesday, buoyed by growing support and choosing to see the glass as half-full.

Risk of bird flu spreading to cows outside US, says WHO Apr 30, 2024 05:32AM

GENEVA (Reuters) - A World Health Organization official said on Tuesday there was a risk of H5N1 bird flu virus spreading to cows in other countries beyond the United States through migratory birds.

"With the virus carried around the world by migratory birds, certainly there is a risk for cows in other countries to be getting infected," said Wenqing Zhang, head of WHO's Global Influenza Programme at a Geneva press briefing.

BYD to fix software in 16,666 Seagull EVs in China product recall, regulator says Apr 30, 2024 05:31AM

BEIJING (Reuters) - BYD will fix software in 16,666 Seagull electric vehicles from May 20 to reduce the chance of accidents, China's market regulator said on Tuesday.

The action involving some Seagull EVs produced between April and May 2023 is described as a product recall under Chinese regulations, it added.

At least 5 killed in attack by gunmen at mosque in Afghanistan Apr 30, 2024 05:27AM

KABUL (Reuters) - At least five people were killed and three injured after gunmen attacked a mosque during prayer time in Afghanistan's Herat province, the spokesperson for the region's governor's office said on Tuesday.

The attack happened on Monday evening and the dead included a woman and a child, Mawlawi Nesar Ahmad Alyes said.
