Wall Street Technology Association (WSTA) "Taking a Business Risk Portfolio (BRP) Approach to Cybersecurity" Panel Discussion

November 11, 2015 3:08 AM EST

New York, NY (PRWEB) November 11, 2015

The WSTA will host a panel discussion on "Taking a Business Risk Portfolio (BRP) Approach to Cybersecurity" on November 17, 2015 in New York City. Johna Till Johnson, CEO and Founder, Nemertes Research will provide industry perspectives and moderate this session. "Companies need to manage cybersecurity risk the same way they manage other business risks," says Johnson. "Seek to minimize, rather than entirely eliminate, risks--and maximize the benefit to the firm from taking those risks." Panel sponsors for this event are BMC, IIS Technology, and Palo Alto Networks.

Panel Discussion Overview
The NIST (National Institute of Standard and Technology), SEC, and FINRA have all recently published the recommendation to enterprise organizations overall, and financial services firms in particular, to take a risk-management perspective to cybersecurity. In this session, Nemertes Research will provide a short methodology for its business-risk portfolio (BRP) approach to following these recommendations. Then an all-star cast of panelists will discuss their success strategies, best practices, and challenges moving to a risk-management model. Attendees will walk away with actionable next steps and guidelines for translating these best practices into their own environments, including emerging technology, effective processes, and requisite skillsets and organizations.
