Sprott Appoints New Director

TORONTO, June 17, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Sprott Inc. (TSX: SII) today announced the appointment of a new director, effective June 17, 2015. Alex Adamson has been appointed to the Sprott Board of Directors and will stand for re-election at the Company's next Annual General Meeting.

Mr. Adamson is Managing Director of Oberndorf Enterprises Limited ("OEL"), which is one of Sprott's largest shareholders. OEL, which was founded by value investor William E. Oberndorf, invests the assets of the Oberndorf Family and its partners through a portfolio of highly-concentrated, long-term, deep-value investments. At OEL, Mr. Adamson is responsible for the identification, evaluation and consummation of new investments in all security types. Prior to joining OEL, Mr. Adamson was a Managing Director at Maverick Capital where, among other industries, he focused on commodity-related investments. Previously, Mr. Adamson was an investment banking analyst with Morgan Stanley's Healthcare Industry Practice in New York.

Mr. Adamson received a B.A. in Economics from the University of Notre Dame with Summa Cum Laude distinction. He is based in San Francisco and currently serves on the Board of Directors of Mission Dolores Academy and Upnest (observer).
