Spectracide® and Cutter® Pest Relief Products Donated For Salvation Army Flood Response

ST. LOUIS, Sept. 15, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Floodwaters in Texas have receded, but the biting bugs left behind are at their peak. In response, Spectrum Brands – Pet, Home & Garden Division, the supplier of Spectracide® and Cutter® products, has partnered with the Salvation Army to provide some relief to Texans affected by the record rainfall across their state this past spring.

Nuisance insect numbers typically spike in the aftermath of flooding. In particular, fire ants are highly adept at picking up and moving to higher ground – even forming floating "rafts" to ensure their colony's survival. Mosquitoes thrive in the abundant breeding grounds provided by standing water.

To help, Spectrum Brands – Pet, Home & Garden Division has donated Spectracide® fire ant killer and Cutter® insect repellents to be distributed throughout the affected area this month by Salvation Army affiliate charities.
