Planet Aid Announces Call for Americans to Donate Their Patriotic Clothing

Elkridge, Maryland (PRWEB) July 01, 2016

In order to better the environment and help impoverished communities across the globe, charitable organization Planet Aid is asking Americans to donate their patriotic July 4th outfits after the holiday.

In a celebration of the country's independence, American citizens across the nation proudly sported their red, white and blue. Instead of leaving these festive outfits in the back of the closet until next year, Planet Aid encourages people to drop their unwanted clothing in one of its iconic yellow donation bins.

Planet Aid's mission is to foster worldwide environmental and social progress. Working in 15 countries across 4 continents, Planet Aid takes donated textiles, recycles and resells them to local communities within developing nations. The money raised is used to fund a variety of sustainable development projects, which help increase literacy, health education, food yields and the overall betterment of the economy within these communities.

"Amid the fireworks, it is easy to forget that most of the world does not live like we do," said Planet Aid President Ester Neltrup. "I implore everyone to take their reds, whites and blues, and put them into one of our yellow bins. Every donation helps the people living in the world's poorest communities."
