Norm Champ, Private Funds Partner at Kirkland & Ellis LLP and Former SEC Director of the Division of Investment Management, Announces February Speaking Engagements
NEW YORK, NY -- (Marketwired) -- 02/02/16 -- Norm Champ, a partner in the Private Funds Group of Kirkland & Ellis LLP and former Director of the Division of Investment Management at the SEC, will be speaking at five events during the month of February.
- February 11th, New York, NY, at the Voltaire Advisors Complying with SEC Fund Valuation Rules Workshop. Champ will deliver the keynote address on his views on directors' responsibilities for valuation and how to address these challenges.
- February 16th, London, UK, at the Financial Times Regulation in Asset Management Conference. Champ will speak on the panel "Is it time for a rethink of regulation adopted during the crisis?"
- February 16th, London, UK at King's College London School of Law. Champ will speak on the topic "Post-Crisis Financial Reform: Helpful or Harmful?"
- February 25th, Washington, DC at the IA Watch IA Compliance: The Full 360 degrees View Conference. Champ will speak on a panel discussing hot topic issues facing compliance professionals.
- February 26th, New York, NY at the Compliance Reporter Breakfast Briefing. Champ will speak on the panel "How mutual fund board directors and chief compliance officers can/should communicate and work together to tackle regulatory and compliance issues."

Norm Champ (http://normchamp.com/ @NormBChamp) is a partner in the Private Funds Group of Kirkland & Ellis LLP and the former Director of the Division of Investment Management at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). He is also a lecturer on Investment Management at Harvard Law School, where he is researching and writing on the regulatory response to the financial crisis. Mr. Champ is working on a book about his experience at the SEC. Before joining the SEC in 2010, Mr. Champ was Executive Vice President and General Counsel of Chilton Investment Company, an investment adviser to long/short equity hedge funds and managed accounts. Mr. Champ has an A.B., summa cum laude, in History from Princeton University and a J.D., cum laude, from Harvard Law School. He was a Fulbright Scholar at King's College London where he received his M.A. in War Studies. Prior to joining Chilton in 1999, Mr. Champ was with the law firm of Davis Polk & Wardwell and clerked for the Honorable Charles S. Haight, Jr. of the US District Court for the Southern District of New York.
