Network Automation Software Wins Redmond Magazine 2009 Readers' Choice Awards
LOS ANGELES, Nov. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Network Automation, Inc., the leader in automation software, today announced it has received two key honors in Redmond magazine's coveted 2009 Readers' Choice awards. The company's BPA (Business Process Automation) product, AutoMate 7, has bested 13 competing products to win the "Best Scripting Tool" award in the Systems Administration category. Network Automation's BPA Server product, AutoMate BPA Server 7, rated 9.6 out of a possible 10 in a detailed software review and was also named third-place winner in the "Best Network Automation and Batch-Processing Tool" category, competing against 19 other products.
Redmond magazine is the independent, authoritative voice of the Microsoft IT community. Its mission is to provide behind-the-scenes insight into Microsoft and the Windows operating platform, giving IT executives the information they need to make better-informed decisions about their IT infrastructure. The Readers' Choice awards is the annual forum for Redmond subscribers to voice their opinions about the best Microsoft and non-Microsoft products in a host of categories. Over 1,000 readers completed surveys in 2009 that determined this year's Readers' Choice winners.
"Redmond magazine is known as one of the most influential sources of news and information regarding Windows IT technologies. Their readers are deeply engaged in issues related to business and IT process automation," said Dustin Snell, founder and CEO of Network Automation. "It's a great honor for our two leading automation products, AutoMate 7 and AutoMate BPA Server 7, to be so highly valued by this informed audience."
Network Automation's AutoMate, currently in version 7, has risen to the top of the automation software marketplace due to its remarkable simplicity and ease-of-use. The application allows users to automate any repetitive computing task--from small jobs on workstations to network-wide "intelligent" processing routines--using a highly intuitive design interface that enables IT professionals to build automation tasks quickly without writing code. AutoMate BPA Server, the server-based version of AutoMate, allows organizations and workers to automate and streamline complex business and IT processes supported by multiple servers and applications.
Its "no code" simplicity means that complex workflows can be created via simple drag-and-drop in a process well suited for collaboration between technical and business users.
In addition to its Readers' Choice recognition, AutoMate BPA Server 7 is a two-time winner of Redmond magazine's MVP (Most Valuable Product) honor, having won in both 2008 and 2009. In its latest review of the product, the magazine cited AutoMate BPA Server 7's "fantastic" AutoMate Task Builder component, saying that "the entire process of creating a task boils down to: drag, drop and fill in the blank." BPA Server 7 is used extensively for job scheduling, batch processing, scripting automation and as a workflow design for both IT Process Automation (ITPA) and Business Process Management (BPM) needs.
