Garden City, NY (PRWEB) February 10, 2016

The National Association of Professional Women (NAPW) honors Victoria Steele as a 2015-2016 inductee into its VIP Woman of the Year Circle. She is recognized with this prestigious distinction for leadership in government. NAPW is the nation's leading networking organization exclusively for professional women, boasting more than 850,000 members and over 200 operating Local Chapters.

"I'm pleased to recognize Victoria with this important honor," said NAPW President Star Jones. "Her perseverance, work ethic and leadership qualities are an inspiration to all women."

Arizona State Representative and Congressional Candidate Victoria Steele came from humble beginnings. Her father and grandfather were Pennsylvania coal miners and her mother worked as a secretary to help support a family of six when her father's health began to fail. Despite early financial hardships, there was always a surplus of love to go around. Victoria's parents instilled in her the values of hard work, an appreciation for the working class and the importance of service to the community.

As a single-working mom, Victoria struggled to make ends meet while putting her son through public school. She worked two jobs and went to college to earn a Master's degree in Counseling, and eventually went into private practice. Prior to that, she enjoyed a 25-year career as a Television and Radio News Broadcaster, garnering numerous awards for her work.

In 2012, Victoria was elected to the Arizona State House of Representatives and re-elected in 2014 from Legislative District 9 in Tucson. She co-founded the Coalition to Protect Women's Reproductive Rights.

Most recently, out of the 1,000 bills introduced into the Legislature, only eight of the bills that ultimately passed were Democratic bills and two of those bills were Victoria's. Both of her bills passed with unanimous approval in the House and the Senate.
