National Association of Professional Women Inducts Amanda Orihuela, Adjunct Professor/History Teacher Into its VIP Woman of the Year Circle

The National Association of Professional Women (NAPW) honors Amanda Orihuela as a 2016-2017 inductee into its VIP Woman of the Year Circle. She is recognized with this prestigious distinction for leadership in education. NAPW is the nation's leading networking organization exclusively for professional women, boasting more than 850,000 members, a thriving eChapter and over 200 operating Local Chapters.

With two current positions as Adjunct Professor of History, Amanda Orihuela brings impressive credentials to the realm of academia. She holds a Master's degree in both European and US History from the University of Northern Colorado and a Paralegal Certificate from the Community College of Denver, and she is working toward a Juris Doctor from the University of Denver.

"My interests include European and American history, their connection to the legal process and teaching in a way that allows students to find their place in the narrative of world events," Ms. Orihuela said. "I bring my passions into everything I do and apply my knowledge with equal intensity."

Prior to teaching history at the collegiate level, Ms. Orihuela worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant while completing her Master's at the University of Colorado. She then took on the role of Upper School History Teacher at Loveland Classical Schools in Loveland, CO.

In her current roles, Ms. Orihuela teaches history at the 100 and 200 levels. "My classes focus on historical analytics, writing and reading of primary and secondary source material," she said. For her commitment to achieving success according to her personal standards of excellence, and for her outstanding accomplishments in enriching her position with her diversified proficiencies, Ms. Orihuela is being honored as a leader and role model for her profession.
