Seattle, WA (PRWEB) September 26, 2016

Inocybe Technologies, the leading pure-play OpenDaylight (ODL) company, announced they are providing free access to a community version of their Open Networking Platform. The community version allows users to leverage the OpenDaylight Lithium, Beryllium and even the recently-launched Boron release. Users have the ability to create a customized OpenDaylight distribution from one of the default 'recipe-based' use cases included in the platform:

  • Service Function Chaining (SFC) of connected network services
  • Managing BGP and PCEP attributes of a network
  • Virtual networking using OpenStack and OpenDaylight integration
  • Dynamic bandwidth provisioning of Wide Area Network (WAN) links
  • Managing NETCONF devices with YANG UI
  • OpenFlow management and configuration protocol for switches
  • Connecting OpenDaylight to an OpenFlow node
  • Connecting OpenDaylight to an OVSDB node

Several of the use cases in the recipe catalog include full tutorials and vagrant files for building the OpenDaylight networking environment. The recipe catalog is located and leveraged within the platform, and can also be downloaded from Github. https://github.com/inocybe/recipe-catalog

"Many customers told us they wished they had known about and tried our Open Networking Platform sooner, as it has accelerated their time to a commercial-grade, production deployment," said Andy Salo, Chief Operating Officer at Inocybe Technologies. "Seeing is believing, so we decided the best way to make this happen, is to offer it free to everyone. Now organizations can leverage the flexibility and power of open source, while staying 'inside the guardrails' of a tailored, use case driven ODL distribution."

After leveraging the free community version, users may choose to upgrade to higher functionality Platform subscription plans to take advantage of greater features. By upgrading to the service provider, enterprise or vendor plans, customers are able to create use-case specific, commercial-grade OpenDaylight controllers or agents through a full CI/CD pipeline, with support for production deployments. This groundbreaking approach enables organizations to simply and securely leverage the only OpenDaylight components they need for products and services, without the network complexity of doing it in-house or with hardware vendor lock-in.

In addition, by upgrading to a platform plan, customers gain access to the library of over 90 recipe-based use-cases, options for various user add-ons and repositories, build management, perform tests using test cases, and deployment management, along with a live chat to Inocybe's OpenDaylight expert engineers for support.
