LENEXA, KS -- (Marketwired) -- 04/03/15 -- The PGA TOUR and the Kansas City Crusaders, the host organization of the Web.com Tour's Kansas City-area event, today announced at a press conference a five-year agreement naming Digital Ally, Inc. (NASDAQ: DGLY) the tournament's new title sponsor, effective immediately and running through 2019.

Under the terms of the agreement, the Midwest Classic has been officially renamed the Digital Ally Open.

Based in the Kansas City suburb of Lenexa, Digital Ally (www.digitalally.com) is a technology-driven company that boasts the best in technology and innovation in the field of advanced video police cameras, fleet event recorders and law enforcement surveillance equipment.

The 2015 Digital Ally Open will be played August 6th through 9th at Nicklaus Golf Club at LionsGate in nearby Overland Park. A week-long schedule of events beginning on August 3rd will include a Pro-Am on Wednesday, August 5th.

A unique component to the Digital Ally sponsorship involves the beneficiary relationships with local and national charities, including:

  • C.O.P.S. (http://www.nationalcops.org) - Provides resources to assist in rebuilding the lives of surviving families of law enforcement officers who have died in the line of duty.
  • National Fallen Firefighters Foundation (http://www.firehero.org) - Mission is to honor and remember America's fallen fire heroes, to provide resources to assist their survivors in rebuilding their lives, and to work within the fire service community to reduce firefighter deaths and injuries.
  • Children's Mercy Kansas City (http://www.childrensmercy.org) - National and international leader recognized for advancing pediatric health and delivering optimal health outcomes through innovation within a high-value, integrated system of care.

"This Web.com Tour event has been fantastic for our community and, when presented with the opportunity, we knew it would be a perfect fit," stated Stanton E. Ross, Chief Executive Officer of Digital Ally, Inc. "More importantly, the Digital Ally Open will bring attention and support to the local and national charities involved."

"It is with a great deal of pleasure that the PGA TOUR welcomes Digital Ally to the Web.com Tour's family of sponsors," said Web.com Tour president Bill Calfee. "Digital Ally is a unique company that is based within a few miles of the tournament's home at Nicklaus Golf Club at LionsGate. We think this hometown synergy and the charitable ties with S.A.F.E., C.O.P.S., National Fallen Firefighter's Foundation and Children's Mercy Kansas City position the Digital Ally Open for much success in the future. We congratulate the Kansas City Crusaders on their efforts in bringing Digital Ally to the Web.com Tour."

"The Kansas City Crusaders are honored to welcome Digital Ally as the title sponsor of our Web.com Tour event," said Kansas City Crusaders president Matt Henderson. "We have a shared vision of making the Digital Ally Open a cornerstone community event each summer that supports businesses as well as local and national charities. We look forward to a long partnership with Digital Ally in providing a platform that helps them achieve their goals."

"The Digital Ally Open will be our Company's first engagement with a major sports sponsorship," added Ross. "The Company plans to activate its partnership by introducing and integrating its products in unique ways during pre-tournament and tournament-week activities. The tournament will coincide with Digital Ally's first Annual Analysts and Investors Day and will be held during a week when law enforcement officers from around the U.S. and from several nations are attending various educational and product familiarization classes at Digital Ally's headquarters facility in Lenexa."

The 2015 tournament will mark the sixth time the Web.com Tour has played a tournament at LionsGate. Zack Sucher, who graduated to the PGA TOUR at the conclusion of the 2014 season, won last year's championship by three shots over Kansas State graduate Aaron Watkins.
