County selects Tyler’s Odyssey solution for an integrated, paperless court system

PLANO, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Tyler Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: TYL) has signed an agreement with Brazos County, Texas, for its Odyssey® integrated courts and justice solution. The contract includes software licenses, implementation services and support.

Odyssey will replace the county’s legacy system for all case types, helping Brazos County move toward a paperless court system. In addition to Odyssey Case Manager, the county invested in a full suite of integrated Odyssey applications, including financial, jail and attorney management. Odyssey’s seamless integration across all of these functions will allow the county to eliminate redundant data entry, improve access to information across county departments, and simplify maintenance and support.

“Brazos County needed to replace outdated justice software and needed newer technology,” said Brazos County Chief Information Officer Eric Caldwell. “We wanted to improve operating efficiencies and enhance and enforce data integrity, and Tyler Technologies’ Odyssey solution was the only system that fit our needs.”

Odyssey is fully integrated with the state’s mandated e-filing platform for civil cases, eFileTexasTM, for which Tyler is the statewide infrastructure provider. Home to Texas A&M University, Brazos County has a population of more than 204,000.

“Tyler’s integrated courts and justice solution will create a chain of efficiencies for Brazos County,” said Bruce Graham, president of Tyler’s Courts & Justice Division. “Odyssey was designed to provide seamless integration between courts, attorneys, law enforcement and correction agencies, and having unified access to this critical data will help Brazos County meet its current and future operating goals.”

In total, Odyssey serves more than 100 million residents, a third of the U.S. population, in more than 600 counties across 21 states. It is used by more than 60 counties in Texas. Odyssey has been successfully deployed statewide in Indiana, Minnesota, New Hampshire, New Mexico, North Dakota and South Dakota; statewide implementations in Idaho, Maryland, Oregon, Rhode Island and Washington are currently underway.
