KeyBanc initiates coverage on Volcom, Inc. (Nasdaq: VLCM) with a Buy. Price target $11.
KeyBanc analyst says, "We view VLCM as one of the most highly differentiated apparel companies within the specialty teen apparel industry. Thus, while we acknowledge the risk in recommending shares of a consumer-based apparel company in a challenging macro-economic environment, we also believe that the strength of the Volcom brand and its popularity among its targeted demographic will continue to allow the Company to generate better than expected performance relative to both its peer group and investor expectations. Additionally, we believe the Company is still in the early stages of its growth process, with its greatest growth opportunities still in front of it."
