Citi initiates coverage on Pfizer (NYSE: PFE) with a Hold. Price target $18.
Citi analyst says, "PFE’s US ops are under considerable stress as two-thirds of PFE’s U.S. in-line product sales are seeing volumes decline. Negative US total prescription (TRx) trends coupled with label changes to new products & rebating demands from payors are impacting ops. This makes PFE dependent on price/FX/cost saving initiatives for growth, which is not a sustainable strategy. PFE needs to make addt’l cost cuts to offset US weakness."
