Twitter's (NYSE: TWTR) next CEO could be an internal candidate.
According to Business Insider, Adam Bain, President of Global Revenue and Partnerships at Twitter, could be the next CEO.
BI cites a person familiar with the matter on the report.
The source said Bain is the number one candidate that the board is focused on right now ... It’s Bain’s to accept or reject.
Co-founder Jack Dorsey recently returned to Twitter as Interim CEO. Market chatter suggests that investors are looking for a more solid candidate, as Dorsey's time is also dividend with his other startup, Square.
News comes amid speculation that Twitter might become a takeover target for Facebook or another company.
Shares of twitter are indicated for a higher open Thursday.
