Zynga (ZNGA) Q3 Net Income Collapses Under Costs, Stagnant Users

Zynga (Nasdaq: ZNGA) filed an amended S-1 registration with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission on Friday. The following are a few select highlights from its quarter ended September 30, 2011 (the third-quarter).
Users:
Zynga's daily active users (DAUs) rose from 49 million to 54 million. The number is down from 62 million in the first-quarter, and 59 million last quarter.
Monthly active users (MAUs) were 227 million, from 203 million in the same period last year. MAUs were 236 million in the first-quarter, and 228 million last quarter.
Monthly unique users (MUUs) were 152 million, from 110 million last year. MUUs were 146 million in the first-quarter, and 151 million last quarter, so this metric is showing strong growth.
Financials:
Third-quarter revs rose from $170.67 million last year to $306.83 million, an 80 percent gain. Net income, however, went from $27.22 million to $12.54 million, a decline of 54 percent.
Net income as an overall percentage of revenue, fell from 16 percent to 4 percent last quarter.
Bookings moved from $222.38 million to $287.66 million, with average booking per user moving from $0.049 to $0.058, an 18 percent jump.
Finally, adjusted EBITDA moved from $102.20 million last year to $58.13 million.
