SCPIE Holdings Inc. (NYSE: SKP) 25% HIGHER; entered into a definitive agreement to be acquired by The Doctors Company, a leading physician-owned medical malpractice carrier, for $28.00 per share in cash, or an aggregate purchase price of approximately $281 million.
LM Ericsson (Nasdaq: ERIC) 25% LOWER; reported early this morning it anticipates its third quarter results will be lower than expected. Ericsson, down more than $12 in pre-market trading, guided its earnings lower than its previous guidance and analyst estimates. The Company said it will expect sales of SEK43.5bn and operating income of SEK5.6bn, compared to SEK8.8bn in the third quarter of last yea
ValueClick, Inc. (Nasdaq: VCLK) 15% LOWER; announced that, based on preliminary financial results, revenue for the third quarter ended September 30, 2007 will be approximately $156 to $157 million compared to the Company's prior guidance range of $155 to $165 million. The Wall Street consensus is $159 million
lululemon athletica inc. (NASDAQ: LULU) 13% HIGHER; said comparable store sales for Fiscal 2007 third quarter ended October 31, 2007 are now expected to show percentage growth in the mid-30's over the same period last year, compared to previous guidance of growth in the mid to high teens. lululemon expects to exceed its previous guidance of $0.05 to $0.06 EPS for the third quarter.
Oceanaut, Inc. (AMEX: OKN) 13% HIGHER; entered into definitive agreements pursuant to which it has agreed to purchase, for an aggregate purchase price of $700 million in cash, nine dry bulk carriers including five newbuildings, from companies associated with members of the Restis family.
Exelixis, Inc. (Nasdaq: EXEL) 10% LOWER; said a recently completed phase 2 trial of XL784 did not meet its primary endpoint of reducing proteinuria compared with placebo in patients with proteinuria associated with diabetic nephropathy.
Quintana Maritime Limited (NASDAQ: QMAR) 9% HIGHER; announced that its Board of Directors, after a series of discussions, has decided to evaluate strategic alternatives in order to enhance shareholder value. The Board has retained Citi and Dahlman Rose to advise it during its deliberations.
Dominos Pizza Inc. (NYSE: DPZ) 6% LOWER; reports Q3 EPS of $0.17, below the consensus of $0.23. Revenues came in at $337.3 million versus the consensus of $350.6 million.
Saks Inc. (NYSE: SKS) 5.7% HIGHER; Rumors the company could be for sale. CNBC's Jim Cramer mentioned the possibility of a takeover on Mad Money last night. In addition, reports from overseas say a takeover could be imminent. In a report this morning, Citigroup said, "We would not rule out the potential acquisition of Saks by a private equity firm." The firm sees a 60% chance of a takeover.
EchoStar (Nasdaq: DISH) 4% HIGHER; Citigroup released a research report on EchoStar, saying they expect AT&T (NYSE: T) to acquire the company. The firm said the EchoStar spin-off announcement is linked to a AT&T/DISH deal, saying the spin may force AT&T's hand or facilitate a transaction. Citigroup sees a 65% chance of a buyout.
KeyCorp (NYSE: KEY) 4% LOWER; reports Q3 EPS of $0.57, below the consensus of $0.71. Revenues came in at $1.15 billion versus the consensus of $1.25 billion. Sees Q4 EPS of $0.64-$0.74, below the consensus of $0.75.
Robbins & Myers Inc. (NYSE: RBN) 4% HIGHER; reports Q4 adj-EPS of $1.05, versus the consensus of $0.84. Sees Q1 EPS of $0.45-$0.64, versus the consensus of $0.63. Sees 2008 EPS of $3.30-$3.50, versus the consensus of $3.12.
Tidewater Inc. (NYSE: TDW) 3.7% LOWER; announced today that fiscal Q2 financial results for the three months ended September 30, 2007, are estimated to be between $1.54 - $1.57 on a fully diluted per share basis. The Thomson First Call consensus estimate is currently $1.71 per share.
Delta Air Lines (NYSE: DAL) 3.5% HIGHER; reports Q3 EPS of $0.56, above the consensus of $0.41. Revenues came in at $5.23 billion versus the consensus of $5.1 billion.
OSI Pharmaceuticals Inc. (Nasdaq: OSIP) 1.9% LOWER; Genentech reported third quarter U.S. net sales for Tarceva for the quarter ended September 30, 2007 were approximately $101 million, a 1% increase over the same quarter of last year. OSI reaffirmed 2007 worldwide guidance for Tarceva net sales of $855 to $860 million.
