(Nasdaq: DYAX) 44% HIGHER; announced positive topline results from its Phase 3, placebo-controlled trial, EDEMA3, for its lead product candidate DX-88 (ecallantide), for hereditary angioedema (HAE). Statistically significant results were achieved for both the primary and secondary endpoints in the EDEMA3 trial.
Semitool, Inc. (Nasdaq: SMTL) 19.2% LOWER; sees Q2 revenue of $51 to $53 million versus the company's prior revenue forecast of between $55 million and $57 million. The consensus is $56.45 million. Net bookings for the quarter were $37.8 million versus $50.9 million in the second quarter last year. The company also updated its 2007 fiscal year revenue forecast to a range of $210 million to $230 million versus its prior forecast of between $260 million and $310 million. The consensus is $273 million.
Anadys Pharmaceuticals, Inc. Planar Systems (NASDAQ: PLNR) 8.7% LOWER; expects Q2 sales to be $53-$54 million and Non-GAAP net loss per share to be $0.07 to $0.09. Past guidance was for sales of $57-$61 million and Non-GAAP net income per diluted share of $0.04 to $0.07 and GAAP net loss per share of $0.06 to $0.09.
Merck's (NYSE: MRK) 6% HIGHER; anticipates its first-quarter earnings per share will be $0.84 (reported EPS will be $0.78), citing strong revenue performance across the Company's range of products. The consensus is $0.63. The Company also raised its anticipated 2007 full-year EPS range to $2.75 to $2.85. The consensus is $2.65. The company also said an FDA panel votes 20 to 1 against Merck's Arcoxia pain reliever.
Krispy Kreme Doughnuts, Inc. (NYSE: KKD) 5% LOWER; said revenues for the fourth quarter decreased 8.2% to $112.2 million compared to $122.2 million in the fourth quarter of last year. The net loss for the fourth quarter was $24.4 million, or $0.39 per diluted share, compared to a net loss of $37.7 million, or $0.61 per diluted share, in the comparable period last year. The net loss for the quarter includes a charge related to the settlement of litigation of approximately $16.0 million. The Company recorded a $2.1 million provision for doubtful accounts. The Company recorded a $1.3 million charge related to the proposed settlement of certain wage and hour complaints.

Nu Skin Enterprises (NYSE: NUS) INDICATED HIGHER; expects stronger-than-anticipated first-quarter revenue of approximately $273 million. The company also expects earnings per share to be within its previously announced range. (Consensus is $264.9 million)
Cott Corp. (NYSE: COT) INDICATED HIGHER; According to reports from the Wall Street Journal, private-label drinks maker Cott Corp. (NYSE: COT) is talking with private-equity firms about joining its operations with Cadbury Schweppes PLC's (NYSE: CSG) beverage arm.
