Gold Kist (Nasdaq: GKIS) 46.3% HIGHER; Pilgrim's Pride Corporation's (NYSE: PPC) offered to acquire all outstanding common shares of Gold Kist for $20 a share. Gold Kist's Board plans to carefully examine this proposal and has designated a committee to consider our strategic plans and potential alternatives to maximize stockholder value.
Spacehab (Nasdaq: SPAB) 25.6% LOWER; NASA's Commercial Orbital Transportation Services rejected a proposal by SPAB. The $485 million in grants were given to private companies.
Kensey Nash (Nasdaq: KNSY) 17.5% LOWER; Reports Q4 EPS of $0.26, 1 cent better than estimates. Revenues came in at $18.4 million versus the consensus of $17.6 million. Sees Q1 EPS of $10-$10.5 million, versus the consensus of $17.9 million. Sees Q1 EPS of $0.10-$0.11, versus the consensus of $0.30.
Merge Healthcare (Nasdaq: MRGE) 11.5% LOWER; Interim CEO Resigns
Harvest Natural Resources (NYSE: HNR) 11.2% HIGHER; Company announced that its 80% owned affiliate, Harvest Vinccler, C.A. (HVCA), signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Corporacion Venezolana del Petroleo S.A. (CVP) for the addition of three fields to Empresa Mixta Petrodelta, S.A. The three fields are Isleno, Temblador and El Salto. Morgan Keegan upgraded HNR to Outperform.
Dollar General (NYSE: DG) 8.5% LOWER; Expects to report earnings for its second quarter ended August 4, 2006 in the range of $0.14-$0.15 per share, which is below the Company's previous guidance of $0.18-$0.22 per share provided in June. Current consensus is $0.19. Today, Merrill Lynch and Raymond James downgraded the stock.
Glenborough Realty Trust (NYSE: GLB) 7.8% HIGHER: Glenborough and Morgan Stanley Real Estate announced a definitive agreement whereby funds managed by Morgan Stanley Real Estate will acquire all of the outstanding common stock of Glenborough in an all-cash transaction valued at approximately $1.9 billion. Under the terms of the agreement, Morgan Stanley Real Estate will acquire all of Glenborough's outstanding common stock for $26.00 per share in cash through a merger transaction.
SIRVA Inc. (NYSE: SIR) 7.2% LOWER; Stock continues to see pressure after last week's announcement of a separation agreement with Robert J. Rosing, SIRVA's former President, Global Relocation Operations, restated receivables sales agreement and an amendment to it's credit agreement.
Allion Healthcare (Nasdaq: ALLI) 6.5% HIGHER; Stock bouncing after Friday's announcement that Oris Medical Systems had initiated litigation against Allion Healthcare, MOMS Pharmacy, Inc. and Oris Healthcare with respect to their 2005 purchase of all the assets of OMS.
Ford Motor Co. (NYSE: F) 5.5% LOWER; Credit Suisse downgrades Ford (F) to Underperform
