Point Therapeutics, Inc. (NASDAQ: POTP) 77% LOWER; The FDA has placed the clinical program for talabostat on clinical hold as a result of the interim analyses of the Company's two Phase 3 talabostat studies as a potential treatment for patients with advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC).

Cytyc Corporation (Nasdaq: CYTC) 28.4% HIGHER; Hologic, Inc. (Nasdaq: HOLX) and Cytyc Corporation announced a definitive agreement to combine the two companies in a cash and stock transaction. Under the terms of the merger agreement, Cytyc shareholders will receive 0.52 shares of Hologic common stock and $16.50 in cash for each share of Cytyc common stock they own.

Luna Innovations (NASDAQ: LUNA) 22.7% HIGHER; received a market clearance letter in response to its 510(k) application to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for the EDAC(TM) (Emboli Detection and Classification) QUANTIFIER.

Pioneer Companies, Inc. (Nasdaq: PONR) 17% HIGHER; Olin Corporation (NYSE: OLN) to acquire Pioneer for $35/Share

Elan Corp. plc (NYSE: ELN) 14% HIGHER; The company and Wyeth Pharmaceuticals, a division of Wyeth (NYSE: WYE), announced the decision to initiate a Phase 3 clinical program of their lead immunotherapeutic candidate, Bapineuzumab (AAB-001), for the treatment of patients with mild to moderate Alzheimer's Disease.

Visteon Corp. (NYSE: VC) 11% HIGHER; Reports from Business Standard, Tata AutoComp Systems (Taco) and French auto parts maker Valeo are in preliminary talks to buy a stake in Visteon

The9 Limited (Nasdaq: NCTY) 11% HIGHER; announced an equity investment by Electronic Arts Inc. (Nasdaq: ERTS). Upon completion of the equity investment, EA will own approximately 15 percent of the common shares of The9. The investment is roughly US$167 million.

Virgin Media, Inc. (Nasdaq: VMED) 9% HIGHER; reports from the Observer the company is the target of a takeover bid from Providence Equity Partners.

Cleveland BioLabs, Inc. (Nasdaq: CBLI) 8% HIGHER; announced positive results of a study of the efficacy of Protectan CBLB612, in an animal bone marrow stem cell transplantation model.

Salesforce.com (NYSE: CRM) 5.7% HIGHER; Reports Google (Nasdaq: GOOG) and Salesforce.com are in talks to form an alliance to battle Microsoft (Nasdaq: MSFT)

Hertz Global Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: HTZ) 5% LOWER; To register 45M shares for holders

Energy Metals Corporation (NYSE: EMU) 5% HIGHER; announces that it is in exclusive negotiations with respect to a potential sale of the company

Alltel Corp. (NYSE: AT) 5% HIGHER; signed a definitive merger agreement to be acquired by TPG Capital and GS Capital Partners for $71.50 per share in cash, or approximately $27.5 billion.

DreamWorks Animation SKG Inc. (NYSE: DWA) 5% HIGHER; 'Shrek the Third' breaks records for animated film in opening weekend.

ValueClick Inc. (Nasdaq: VCLK) 4.9% HIGHER; continued takeover speculation following MSFT/AQNT deal

Dow Jones & Co. Inc. (NYSE: DJ) 3.4% LOWER; Reports News Corp (NYSE: NWS) is preparing to "walk away" from Dow Jones.

Campbell Soup Co. (NYSE: CPB) 2% HIGHER; reports Q3 EPS of $0.45, ex-items, 4 cents better than estimates. Revenues came in at $1.868 billion versus the consensus of $1.79 billion. Increasing forecasted fiscal 2007 adjusted EPS growth from continuing operations to a range of 12 to 14 percent.

Lowe's Companies Inc. (NYSE: LOW) 1.3% LOWER; reports Q1 EPS of $0.48, 1 cent worse than estimates. Revenues came in at $12.2 versus the consensus of $12.46 billion. Sees Q2 EPS of $0.62-$0.64 versus the consensus of $0.60. Sees FY EPS of $1.99-$2.03, versus the consensus of $2.01.

GE (NYSE: GE) 1% HIGHER; signed a definitive agreement to sell GE Plastics to Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC) in a deal valued at $11.6 billion in cash plus assumption of liabilities. To Use Proceeds for Stock Buyback
