Mylan Laboratories (MYL) Receives FDA Approval for Generic Zoloft

Mylan Laboratories Inc. (NYSE: MYL) announced that Mylan Pharmaceuticals Inc. has received final approval from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for its Abbreviated New Drug Application (ANDA) for Sertraline Hydrochloride Tablets, 25mg, 50mg and 100mg.

Sertraline Hydrochloride Tablets are the generic version of Pfizer's Zoloft (NYSE: PFE), which had U.S. sales of approximately $2.9 billion for the same strengths in the 12-month period ending Dec. 31, 2006, according to IMS Health.
