FDA Panel Backs Auxilium's (AUXL) XIAFLEX
A FDA panel is backing Auxilium Pharmaceuticals (Nasdaq: AUXL) XIAFLEX drug to treat Dupuytren's contracture, a condition in which connective tissue in the hands hardens and contracts.
An FDA panel voted 12-0 in favor of XIAFLEX, saying it is a safe and effective alterative to surgery, and in some ways may be better than surgery.
Shares of Auxilium have been halted all day ahead of the news.
