Factory Card & Party Outlet Corp. (Nasdaq: FCPO) 98% HIGHER; AAH will acquire Factory Card & Party Outlet in an all-cash transaction valued at approximately $72 million. Under the terms of the merger agreement, a subsidiary of AAH will commence a tender offer for all outstanding shares of Factory Card & Party Outlet Corp. stock at a price of $16.50 per share in cash.

Micrus Endovascular (Nasdaq: MEND) 24.5% LOWER; Expects fiscal 2008 revenues to be between $65 million and $75 million. Previously the Company expected fiscal 2008 revenues to be between $80 million and $85 million.

NovaStar Financial, Inc. (NYSE: NFI) 19% LOWER; said it will not proceed with declaring a dividend on its common stock, as previously planned. NovaStar said the decision not to declare a dividend related to 2006 taxable income will cause the Company's REIT status to be terminated, retroactive to January 1, 2006.

Millennium Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (Nasdaq: MLNM) 10% HIGHER; said interim analysis results of the large, international Phase III VISTA trial in patients with newly diagnosed multiple myeloma showed that the therapy of VELCADE, melphalan and prednisone demonstrated a highly statistically significant improvement in all efficacy measures, including time-to-disease progression, complete remission rate, progression-free survival and overall survival, compared to melphalan and prednisone alone. Based on the recommendation of an independent data monitoring committee (IDMC), which conducted the planned interim, the control arm of the trial was stopped early to allow patients still being treated with MP to have VELCADE added to their therapy.

Move, Inc. (Nasdaq: MOVE) 9% HIGHER; said its board of directors authorized the repurchase of up to $50 million of its common stock.

E*TRADE Financial Corporation (Nasdaq: ETFC) 6% LOWER; To Realign Balance Sheet; Lowers Guidance, Exits Wholesale Mortgage Operations, Increases Provisions for Loan Losses. For the full year 2007 the company sees EPS between $1.05 and $1.15 per share, down from its previous range of $1.53 to $1.67.

LanOptics Ltd. (Nasdaq: LNOP) 5% LOWER; Announces 1.6 million share offering.

Adobe Systems Inc. (Nasdaq: ADBE) 4.5% HIGHER; reports Q3 EPS of $0.45, 5 cents better than estimates. Revenues came in at $851.7 million versus the consensus of $789.25 million. Sees Q4 revenues of $860-$890 million versus the consensus of $843.03 million. Sees Q4 adj-EPS of $0.46-$0.48, versus the consensus of $0.44.

Best Buy Co. Inc. (NYSE: BBY) 4.4% HIGHER; reports Q2 EPS of $0.55, versus the consensus of $0.44. Revenues came in at $8.75 billion versus the consensus of $8.48 billion. Sees FY EPS at the top half of $3.00-$3.15, versus the consensus of $3.03.

Wendy's International Inc. (NYSE: WEN) 3.4% HIGHER; WSJ reports more than a dozen parties have shown interest in participating in the sale process for the company. Nelson Peltz's Triarc Co is the only entity that has publicly stated its interest.

Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc. (NYSE: LEH) 2.6% HIGHER; reports Q3 EPS of $1.54, versus the consensus of $1.47. Revenues came in at $4.3 billion versus the consensus of $4.3 billion.

Sonoco (NYSE: SON) INDIATED LOWER; expects third quarter 2007 base earnings to be in the range of $.55 to $.58 per diluted share. The Company had previously provided on July 20, 2007 base earnings guidance for the third quarter of 2007 of $.62 to $.65 per diluted share. The consensus is $.63. Sonoco now expects base earnings for the full 2007 year to be in the range of $2.23 to $2.26 per diluted share. The Company had previously reported in July that it expected full-year base earnings to be in the range of $2.36 to $2.40 per diluted share. The consensus is $2.38.
