Notable ETF Movers of the Day 11/05: (FBT) (OIH) Higher; (XLU) Lower

Gainers:

First Trust NYSE Arca Biotech Index (NYSE: FBT) gained 3 percent to 43.3. Shares of BioMarin Pharma (Nasdaq: BMRN) popped 29 percent after a phase 3 study of GALNS met primary endpoints in treatment of MPS IVA. BioMarin has a 4.72 percent weighting in FBT, which led to overall gains in the ETF. Year-to-date, FBT is higher by 31 percent.

Market Vectors Oil Services ETF (NYSE: OIH) gained 0.8 percent to 38.55. Shares of Transocean (NYSE: RIG), which has a 5 percent weighting in OIH, gained 4.35 percent following its quarterly earnings report.

Decliners:

Utilities Select Sector SPDR (NYSE: XLU) declined 1.46 percent. The downdraft is tied to a disappointing quarterly earnings report by Southern co. (NYSE: SO). With a 8.85 percent weighting in the ETF, Southern company is the second largest holding in XLU, behind Duck Energy (NYSE: DUK).
