Notable ETF Movers of the Day 01/18: (OIH) (FXI) Higher; (SMH) Lower

Gainers:

Market Vectors Oil Services ETF (NYSE: OIH) gained 1.4 percent to 41.7. Shares of oilfield services provider Schlumberger Limited (NYSE: SLB) were higher by 3.5 percent. This morning Schlumberger reported Q4 results that were ahead of consensus. Importantly, the stock is a top holding in OIH with an approximated 20 percent weighting.

iShares FTSE China 25 Index Fund ETF (NYSE: FXI) gained 0.7 percent to 41.6. Stocks in Hong Kong moved higher after data in China showed a larger than expected rise in GDP to 7.9 percent compared to estimates of 7.8 percent.

Decliners:

Market Vectors Semiconductor ETF (NYSE: SMH) declined 1.6 percent to 34. Shares of the world's largest chip maker Intel (Nasdaq: INTC) opened lower on Friday after reporting Q4 earnings and guidance the night before. Intel aside, semiconductor stocks were mixed, with shares of Broadcom Corp. (Nasdaq: BRCM) trading lower, while shares of Applied Materials (Nasdaq: AMAT) jumped. Shares of Advanced Micro Devices (NYSE: AMD) followed Intel lower.
