Aetna (AET) Raises Quarterly Dividend 11.1% to $0.25; Approves $1B Buyback

Aetna (NYSE: AET) declared a quarterly dividend of $0.25 per share, or $1 annualized. This is an 11.1% increase from the prior dividend of $0.225.
The dividend will be payable on January 30, 2015, to stockholders of record on January 15, 2015, with an ex-dividend date of January 13, 2015.
The annual yield on the dividend is 1.2 percent.
The Board authorized the company to repurchase up to an additional $1 billion of its common stock from time to time. This authorization is in addition to the approximately $464 million of repurchase authority available under Aetna’s prior authorization as of November 20, 2014. The company intends to continue buying shares in the open market from time to time.
