Yesterday shares of Fusion-io, Inc. (NYSE: FIO) dropped after the company announced the departure of its CEO David Flynn and its co-founder, Rick White. Fusion-io named Shane Robison as Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and President effective immediately.
In comments today, Robinson said the changes were made in light of different "skill sets."
Robinson addresses speculation by say there was no problem with the company, the founders have not done anything wrong, and there was no plan by the board to sell the company. He added that he and David Flynn agree on the direction of the company.
Importantly, he said customer reaction was positive to the news. The statement might relate to speculation that key relationships are at risk given previous management's tight relationship with Apple (Nasdaq: AAPL) and Facebook (Nasdaq: FB).
