GPC Biotech AG (Nasdaq: GPCB) 61% LOWER; Pharmion Corporation (Nasdaq: PHRM) and GPC Biotech AG announced topline overall survival results for the double-blinded, randomized satraplatin Phase 3 registrational trial, the SPARC trial. The trial evaluated satraplatin plus prednisone versus placebo plus prednisone as a second-line treatment in 950 patients with hormone-refractory prostate cancer. The companies reported that the trial did not achieve the endpoint of overall survival (p=0.80, stratified log rank analysis).

First Consulting Group, Inc. (Nasdaq: FCGI) 27% HIGHER; Computer Sciences Corporation (NYSE: CSC) and First Consulting Group, Inc. (Nasdaq: FCGI) entered into an agreement and plan of merger through which CSC will acquire First Consulting Group in an all-cash transaction for $13.00 per share, or approximately $365 million.

SiRF Technology Holdings (Nasdaq: SIRF) 19.8% HIGHER; reported Q3 EPS of $0.29, 7 cents better than the analyst consensus of $0.22. Revenues for the quarter were $91.2 million, versus the consensus of $85.66 million.

Commerce Group, Inc. (NYSE: CGI) 16% HIGHER; MAPFRE S.A. and The Commerce Group, Inc. (NYSE: CGI) announced today the signing of a merger agreement by which MAPFRE will acquire 100 per cent of the share capital of US insurer COMMERCE for $2,207 million. Shareholders of COMMERCE will receive $36.70 per share, representing a 22.5% premium over the average share price of the last 30 days. The Commerce Group closed at $31.12 yesterday.

Buffalo Wild Wings, Inc. (Nasdaq: BWLD) 13% LOWER; reported Q3 EPS of $0.24, 2 cents lower than the analyst consensus of $0.26. Revenues for the quarter were $82.4 million, versus the consensus of $81.37 million.

FEI Company (Nasdaq: FEIC) 12.8% LOWER; reported Q3 EPS of $0.31, 3 cents better than the analyst consensus of $0.28. Revenues for the quarter were $145.8 million, versus the consensus of $145.3 million. The Company expects Q4 EPS of $0.23 to $0.27, versus the consensus of $0.35. Q4 revenues are expected to be $147 to $153 million, versus $155 million.

Actions Semiconductor (Nasdaq: ACTS) 12.7% LOWER; reported Q3 EPS of $0.12, 2 cents lower than the analyst consensus of $0.14. Revenues for the quarter were $27 million, versus the consensus of $30.06 million. The Company expects Q4 EPS to be $0.14 to $0.17, versus the consensus of $0.16.

BigBand Networks (Nasdaq: BBND) 12% LOWER; reported Q3 loss of ($0.05), 3 cents better than the analyst consensus of ($0.08). Revenues for the quarter were $38.5 million, versus the consensus of $36.59 million. The Company expects a Q4 loss of ($0.18) to ($0.12), versus the consensus of ($0.06). Revenues are expected to be in the range of $27 to $30 million, versus the consensus of $38.64 million.

Omniture Inc. (Nasdaq: OMTR) 12% LOWER; Reports Q3 results, guides

Shutterfly (Nasdaq: SFLY) 10.7% LOWER; reports Q2 loss of $0.10 per share, 2 cents better than estimates. Revenues came in at $29.9 million versus the consensus of $26.7 million. Sees Q3 $30-$31 million versus the consensus of $27.4 million. Sees FY07 revenues of $177-$180 million versus the consensus of $167.7 million.

Pericom Semiconductor (Nasdaq: PSEM) 10% HIGHER; reported Q1 EPS of $0.15, 4 cents better than the analyst consensus of $0.11. Revenues for the quarter were $38.5 million, versus the consensus of $34.06 million. Pericom issues guidance for Q2 revenue 39.3-40.8 million versus consensus 35.7 million.

Invitrogen Corp. (Nasdaq: IVGN) 10% HIGHER; Revenue from Continuing Operations $315 Million, versus the consensus of $304 million and Non-GAAP EPS of $1.15, versus the consensus of $0.82.

Omnicare (NYSE: OCR) 10% LOWER; reported Q3 adj-EPS of $0.44, 11 cents lower than the analyst consensus of $0.55. Revenues for the quarter were $1.54 billion, versus the consensus of $1.57 billion. Omnicare expects Q4 EPS of $0.45 to $0.50, versus the consensus of $0.62 and FY07 EPS of $1.87 to $1.92, versus the consensus of $2.16.

Mastercard Incorporated (NYSE: MA) 10% HIGHER; reports Q3 EPS of $1.80 ex-items, above the consensus of $1.42. Revenues came in at $1.08 billion, versus the consensus of $1.03 billion. On October 29, 2007, the Company's Board of Directors amended the share repurchase plan to authorize the Company to repurchase an incremental $750 million, for an aggregate of the entire repurchase program of $1.25 billion of Class A common stock in open market transactions on or prior to June 30, 2008.

Parametric Technology Corp. (Nasdaq: PMTC) 9% HIGHER reports Q4 EPS of $0.38, ex-items, versus the consensus of $0.26. Revenues came in at $266.7 million versus the consensus of $246 million. Parametric Technology sees Q1 revenues of $230-$240 million and non-GAAP EPS of $0.20-$0.25, versus the consensus of $236.7 million and $0.23.

CommScope (NYSE: CTV) 7.7% LOWER; reported Q3 EPS of $0.81, 1 cent better than the analyst consensus of $0.80. Revenues for the quarter were $514 million, versus the consensus of $522.03 million.

Wynn Resorts, Limited (Nasdaq: WYNN) 6.8% LOWER; reported Q3 EPS of $0.67, 4 cents better than the analyst consensus of $0.63. Revenues for the quarter were $653.4 million, versus the consensus of $637.16 million.

Spartech Corporation (NYSE: SEH) 6.5% LOWER; lowerd expectations for its 2007 fourth quarter earnings. Earnings per share, before the impact of special items, are now expected to be at or about breakeven for the fourth quarter ending November 3, 2007. The consensus is a profit of $0.28 per share.

Garmin (Nasdaq: GRMN) 6.5% LOWER; said it intends to make a public offer for all the outstanding shares of Tele Atlas N.V. on a fully diluted basis at an indicative offer price of euro 24.50 in cash per share, implying an equity value for the Company of euro 2.3 billion.

Varian, Inc. (Nasdaq: VARI) 4.5% HIGHER; reported Q4 EPS of $0.69, 5 cents better than the analyst consensus of $0.64. Revenues for the quarter were $245.6 million, versus the consensus of $236.64 million. Varian expects FY08 EPS to be between $2.84 and $2.98, versus the analyst estimate of $2.75.

Chicago Bridge & Iron (NYSE: CBI) 4.4% HIGHER; reports Q3 earnings of $0.61 per share, 14 cents better than the consensus of $0.46. Revenues came in at $1.17 billion versus the consensus of $1.11 billion. Chicago Bridge & Iron sees FY07 EPS of $1.60-$1.75 versus the consensus of $1.64.

Chipotle Mexican Grill (NYSE: CMG) 4% HIGHER; reported Q3 EPS of $0.62, 9 cents better than the analyst consensus of $0.53. Revenues for the quarter were $286.4 million, versus the consensus of $279.33 million.

LDK Solar (NYSE: LDK) 3.5% LOWER; Piper Jaffray downgrades LDK Solar from Outperform to Market Perform and reduces their price target to $34.50. Piper Jaffray lowers their 2008 proforma EPS on LDK to $1.65 (from $1.92) on revenue of $1.1B (from $943M) on GM of 22.6% (from 31.3%).

SunPower Corporation (Nasdaq: SPWR) 2.9% HIGHER; RBC upgrades to Outperform.

Verizon (NYSE: VZ) 1.4% HIGHER; According to reports from the Wall Street Journal, Verizon (NYSE: VZ) and Google are in "serious" discussions to carry cellphones tailored to a new mobile operating system.

InterDigital, Inc. (Nasdaq: IDCC) INDICATED HIGHER; reports Q3 EPS of $0.18, above the consensus of $0.10. Revenues came in at $56.5 million versus the consensus of $56.1 million. InterDigital also announced the authorization of a $100 million share repurchase program.

Acura Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (OTCBB: ACUR) INDICATED HIGHER; King Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (NYSE: KG) and Acura Pharmaceuticals entered into a License, Development and Commercialization Agreement for the United States, Canada, and Mexico encompassing a potentially wide range of opioid analgesic products utilizing Acura's patented Aversion Technology platform.
