UPGRADES:

Merrill Lynch upgrades Amgen (Nasdaq: AMGN) from Neutral to Buy, citing valuation, saying the worst is over after receiving positive news on its anemia drug when an FDA panel said drug doses shouldn't be lower.

BB&T Capital upgrades Skechers (NYSE: SKX) from Hold to Buy with a $30 price target.

Goldman Sachs upgrades Apache Corp. (NYSE: APA) from Neutral to Buy, with a $100 price target.

JP Morgan upgrades Transocean (NYSE: RIG) and GlobalSantaFe (NYSE: GSF) from Underweight to Neutral, citing a stronger market position due to the merger of the two.

DOWNGRADES:

Deutsche Bank downgrades PRIMEDIA Inc. (NYSE: PRM) from Buy to Hold, but raises their price target to $15.50. The firm said, "While PRIMEDIA continues to be a defensive long-term play on the housing downturn, investors have already collected the special dividend which accounted for the bulk of the upside on our Buy call."

UBS downgrades Wimm-Bill-Dann Foods (NYSE: WBD) from Buy to Sell

Jefferies downgrades Macrovision (Nasdaq: MVSN) from Buy to Hold with a $25 price target, saying they are concerned that ACP studio revenues will fall faster than they previously thought.

Goldman Sachs downgrades Newfield Exploration Co. (NYSE: NFX) from Buy to Neutral with a $56 price target.
