Revenues Continue to Disappoint Investors

Analysts at MKM are expressing concern about companies’ revenue compared to forecasts.
As of July 19th, only 38 percent of companies who reported earnings exceeded consensus sales forecasts, noted Jim Strugger, a derivatives strategist at MKM. With only 13 percent of the S&P reporting, the evidence was already mounting that companies were going to have difficulties on the top line. That trend has continued, and many are expecting more trouble as we get deeper into earnings season.
