Google Voice Coming In Weeks - Analyst

According to analysts at Broadpoint.AmTech Google (Nasdaq: GOOG) may launch Google Voice within weeks.

According to the firm, "Google Voice is a service that lets users link all of their phones (work, home, cell, etc.) to a single phone number. Calls from that number anywhere in the U.S. are also free. In addition, Google Voice offers a variety of additional features aimed at making voicemail more user-friendly (and in some ways, more like email), including voicemail transcripts, listening in on a voicemail before deciding to take the call, email/text notifications of a new voicemail, call blocking, call screening, and many others."

Last month GOOG reserved 1 million phone numbers with VoIP service provider Level 3.

The firm said like most of their products, Google Voice will be free and monetization plans are unclear. But they think the the introduction of Google Voice will help accelerate Google's mobile penetration by creating a larger mobile ecosystem against which Google can sell/target/monetize advertisements. Also, the expect Google Voice to be integrated with Android and, if successful, may help increase penetration of Android-powered smartphones.

The firm is reiterating their Buy rating and $480 price target.
