Goldman Sachs maintained a Neutral rating on Fusion-io (NYSE: FIO) and cut its price target to $27.00 (from $28.00).

Commenting on the company's better than expected earnings report, analyst Bill Shope said "While the solid upside is testament to Fusion's momentum, it was largely driven by the earlier-than-expected close of a $10 million deal. As a result, the company offered a revenue outlook that fell below our estimates and consensus."

Other analysts have called the guidance "comical" and "ultra coy".

"There will likely be plenty of debate over the guidance and commentary, but our view is that the company was likely adding some degree of conservatism to the outlook due to the uncertain macro environment. Nevertheless, if the company doesn't post healthy upside for the December quarter, the bears will gain significant momentum," added Shope.
