Shares of Facebook (Nasdaq: FB) are underperforming the broader stock market Wednesday morning despite some reassuring comments from Capstone's Rory Maher earlier. The stock last traded at $31.73, down 0.5 percent on the session, compared to a 0.1 percent gain in the NASDAQ.

Maher issued a research note suggesting the company's return on investment for its mobile campaign appears to be "significantly better" than on the company's PC ads. Maher's claims comes amid recent anecdotes saying Facebook's conversion rates have been weak for mobile ads compared to on PCs. The analyst said the major agencies he was in contact with have yet to use campaigns for Facebook's mobile segment.

Capstone maintains a Hold rating on shares of Facebook.
