Tesla (TSLA) Apologizes for Tech Glitch in One of Its Key Markets
Tesla Motors (Nasdaq: TSLA) is in focus following a flub in the auto maker's number two market.
The WSJ said Monday the Tesla CEO Elon Musk apologized to customers in Norway for a technical glitch which make it difficult to charge their autos.
Musk's apology was broadcast on Norway's Teknisk Ukeblad Media A/S's technology news website, tu.no.
Tesla's Universal Mobile Connector, or UMC, wasn't properly interacting with the Norwegian grid, the WSJ noted. Fewer than 10 percent of Tesla customers were said to experience issues.
One spokesperson for Tesla said that the issues are about 95 percent solved.
According to the latest data, Norway has about 2,100 registered Tesla vehicles, making it the next-largest market outside of the U.S. for Tesla. Sales of the Model S sedan began last August and was the country's best-selling vehicle in September. Key items that have helped out Tesla in Norway include government incentives for electric vehicle owners and otherwise high fuel prices.
Tesla is down a modest 0.2 percent in afternoon trading.
