Google's (GOOG) Schmidt Thinks Apple is Innovative Leader, Uses BlackBerry for Keyboard
Google (Nasdaq: GOOG) held its Big Tent summit today, with executive chairman Eric Schmidt offering some interesting comments in the process.
In part, Schmidt said peer Apple (Nasdaq: AAPL) is a "tremendous innovator." TheVerge quotes Schmidt as saying: ""Apple will continue to be a tremendous technology innovator and build beautiful products, regardless of the market share of the products, and that's a great strength — they will continue to be the innovator." He prefers the iPad to iPad mini, saying the latter was too small.
He commented that Google's Google Now app is suck in the approval process to make it to Apple's App Store, saying some Search features would need to be tweaked.
Schmidt uses a BlackBerry (Nasdaq: BBRY) because he "likes the keyboard," though he also noted that the company was slowly sinking.
Schmidt also lauded Amazon.com (Nasdaq: AMZN), saying the company exceeded all expectations of its ability to change distribution and marketing, and were also am important Google partner.
