Apple (AAPL) Stock Dips on Report It Expects Flat iPhone Production This Year
May 26, 2022 5:42 AM EDTApple (NASDAQ: AAPL) intends to keep the iPhone production relatively flat in 2022 as the tech giant, as well as the broader smartphone industry, continue to face headwinds this year.
Apple has reportedly told suppliers to produce around 220 million iPhones this year, almost the same as the number of iPhones assembled last year, according to Bloomberg News.

May 25, 2022 6:01 AM EDTApple (NASDAQ: AAPL) has asked its suppliers to expedite iPhone development after strict lockdown measures in China impeded the schedule for at least one of the new iPhones, according to Nikkei Asia.
China introduced new lockdown measures a few months ago as a part of its zero-COVID policy, which forced iPhone manufacturer Pegatron Corp. to temporarily shut down operations at its Shanghai and Kunshan assembly plants.
Some parts of Shanghai, Chinas most populous city, still remain under lockdown as the countrys government intensifies its quarantine efforts.
