Payments Q3 Earnings Preview: Jefferies Expects Square (SQ) to Miss, PayPal (PYPL) Likely a Non-Event, Sees Risk for Mastercard (MA) and Visa (V) on Q4 Outlook
October 22, 2021 9:20 AM EDTJefferies analyst Trevor Williams has weighed in on the banks research coverage of Payments, Processors and IT Services companies ahead of Q3 earnings.
Overall, the analyst sees a little room for surprises compared to Q2 as investors brace for soft results after macro turbulence in August, a decel in eComm, and easing FX tailwinds.
As far as two top names in the payments sector are concerned, Williams sees a pocket of risks for both Mastercard (NYSE: MA) and Visa (V).
