John Paulson Shows New Stakes In Exxon Mobil (XOM) and Goldman Sachs (GS), Raises Pfizer (PFE) Stake

John Paulson's Paulson & Co hedge fund released its 13F for the quarter ended June 30, 2010 after the close.

Paulson showed new stakes in Exxon Mobil (NYSE: XOM), American Capital, Ltd. (Nasdaq: ACAS), and Goldman Sachs Group (NYSE: GS) among others. He also raised his stake in MGM Resorts (NYSE: MGM), Mylan Inc. (NYSE: MYL), Novell (Nasdaq: NOVL) and Pfizer Inc. (NYSE: PFE), among others.

Paulson continue to have a heavy consideration in merger arb and had stakes in the pending mergers of Mariner Energy, Inc. (NYSE: ME), Sybase Inc (NYSE: SY) and Talecris Biotherapeutics (Nasdaq: TLCR), among others.

Paulson had 78 entries for a total value of $22.9 billion at the end of the quarter, up from the 60 entries for $21.1 billion at the quarter ended March 31, 2010. It should be noted that cash, short positions and various other securities are not required to be disclosed in the 13F filing.
