Carl Icahn Shows New Stakes In Energy Names and a Gun Maker (APC, NRG, SWHC)

Carl Icahn's Icahn Capital hedge fund released its 13F for the quarter ended June 30, 2010 today. Icahn showed a number of new stakes, including some that were already known through intra-quarter SEC filings. Among the new stakes that were not already known by the market were: Smith & Wesson (Nasdaq: SWHC), Anadarko Petroleum (NYSE: APC) and NRG Energy (NYSE: NRG).

Sectors he favored during the quarter included energy and tech. He also maintained his noticeable presence in biotech.

• New stake in Lawson Software, Inc. (Nasdaq: LWSN) (disclosed intra-quarter, current stake above reported 13F stake)
