KONE Celebrates Completion of Escalator and Elevator Modernization Project at Saratoga Race Course

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y., July 22, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- KONE, a global leader in the elevator and escalator industry, today announced the completion of its modernization and maintenance order at historic thoroughbred racing venue Saratoga Race Course in Saratoga Springs, NY. KONE will participate in the 2016 season opening with an official ribbon cutting ceremony at Saratoga Race Course on July 22 to celebrate the completion of the modernization project.

KONE's assessment and action plan included replacing two existing escalators with KONE TransitMaster™ 120, which led to winning the maintenance and repairs on four additional escalators and five elevators ahead of the 2016 meet. For this project, the decision to do a complete replacement was the best option for the escalators, which included taking out the entire structure and frame of the escalator and replacing with new materials.

Saratoga Race Course is home to 40 days of world-class thoroughbred racing and entertainment. Saratoga was named one of the "Top 10 Sports Venues of the 20th Century" by Sports Illustrated. Racing has been conducted at historic Saratoga Race Course since 1863.
