Twitter (NYSE: TWTR) shares traded lower by over 2% after a number of high-profile accounts were apparently hacked by a bitcoin scam.
Accounts of Tesla's (NASDAQ: TSLA) CEO Elon Musk, Microsoft founder Bill Gates, President Barack Obama, presidential hopeful Joe Biden, Jeff Bezos, Warren Buffett, and many others were victims of the scam, along with the corporate accounts of Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL) and Uber (NYSE: UBER).
About an hour after the hack started, Twitter said it was aware of the security incident and was investigating and taking steps to fix it.
