Walmart really is the great equalizer. Everyone, from all tax brackets, has been or frequently goes to Walmart from time to time. This big box store was started in the hot summer of 1962, and it grew from a small chain into an economic juggernaut.

Now, Walmart brings in $611.3 billion in revenue as of 2023, and it owns tons of subsidiaries. Everybody—and we mean—everybody goes to Walmart. In this article, you’ll find some wild, wacky, and downright weird photos of Walmart customers, proving that a picture really is worth a thousand words.

1. Not Suspicious At All

Cost: $50-$100 for the costume*
What’s Happening: Customer in a totally weird blow-up outfit

Behold this completely unsuspicious-looking Walmart shopper hanging out in the tech aisle. His white face mask, white gloves, and black, blow-up suit comprise an outfit that isn’t even the strangest on this list.

This person probably snagged this costume on Amazon, a major Walmart competitor, before heading to pick up some video games. He probably based his look on a character from one of those games…he does look pretty supervillain-y.

2. Keeping A Leash On A…Kid?

Cost: $7-$20 for a leash*
What’s Happening: Woman walking her kid like a dog

Listen, we get it. Kids are annoying, and they run everywhere, and taking them grocery shopping can be a nightmare. But, is walking them on a leash like a dog really the answer? We’re not trying to wade into any debates, here.

People have been putting leashes on their kids for years, and people have been complaining about them doing so for years. Hey, if you want to parade your kid around like an adoptee from WOOF, you’re free to do so. This is America, isn’t it?

3. He’s Masked, At Least

Cost: $40 for the costume*
What’s Happening: Dinosaur wearing a mask

Well, at least this critter is masked up. In 2020, everyone was following mask mandates to get into stores (we all saw the videos of people raising hell because they didn’t want to wear them). This dino was in total compliance.

Illness stands no chance against this $40 dinosaur costume, which wouldn’t look out of place at a History Channel convention. The thing we love most about this prehistoric Walmart shopper is his cute blue mask. Safety first!

4. She’s Done Walking

Cost: $0*
What’s Happening: A woman who got tired of walking around

We’ve all felt like this from time to time. You’re grocery shopping in the store, you’re tired, and you wish someone would just push you around like a little kid and take care of the adult stuff for you.

This woman took that feeling and acted on her impulsive thoughts, kicking off her Nikes to squish herself into the cart. These carts barely fit kids, so let’s hope she didn’t have to call the fire department to get her out of the metal contraption.

5. Walmart Scuba Diver

Cost: $100 for the costume*
What’s Happening: A scuba diver in Walmart

Yet another 2020 photo comes courtesy of this man. Mask mandates hit him hard, so he decided to exercise the good ol’ American right to peacefully protest. He donned a scuba suit and mask, looking completely ridiculous.

He had enough energy to squeeze himself into that outfit, but he crashed out when it came time to shop. This scuba diver went mobile, drawing attention to himself as he cruised around on his motorized scooter.

6. Mystique Shops At Walmart?

Cost: $50-$100*
What’s Happening: Mystique doing some shopping

We love Mystique just as much as the next person, but we didn’t know she shopped at Walmart. Then again, Walmart is a place where everyone goes, even powerful X-Men mutants. Mystique was even taking photos that day.

We’re going to guess this version of Mystique was heading to or from some sort of convention. She gets full marks from us for the cosplay, as we knew who she was right away, the second we saw the blue suit and red hair.

7. Just Waitin’ In The Car

Cost: $75-$200 for a baby goat*
What’s Happening: Baby goat waiting in the car while his owner shops

Taking your kids shopping can be a nightmare…literally. This unbelievably adorable baby goat was left in a car while his owner shopped at Walmart. This pic was snapped by a Walmart customer as he passed by.

Hopefully, the owner left the AC on. To his credit, this kid looks quite patient, waiting for his owner. He’s better behaved than actual human kids, in fact. Alas, maybe one day Walmart will have a pro-goat policy.

8. Zero Social Propriety

Cost: $0*
What’s Happening: Two half-naked men

“NO SHIRT, NO SHOES, NO SERVICE.” Didn’t this guy see the sign? We’re all for having a fun beach day, so long as things don’t get taken too far. When you’re out of the sand and sun, it’s time to put on clothes.

Zero Social Propriety @Google/Pinterest Zero Social Propriety @Google/Pinterest

This man clearly didn’t get the memo, as he’s wandering around Walmart half-naked. His buddy isn’t much better, as he appears to be using a Natty Light case to cover his speedo-clad behind. Gentlemen, get it together.

9. Captain America

Cost: $25 for the outfit*
What’s Happening: A very patriotic outfit

Where else would Captain America shop but Walmart? Let’s face it, Walmart is as American as it can be. It came from small roots and grew into a mega-corporation, worth billions. And, judging from this photo, people love Walmart for that.

This guy is super-patriotic, and we’re going to guess that this outfit was worn on the Fourth of July. The top, the pants, the overall vibe—he no doubt knows the Declaration of Independence by memory, line for line.

10. That’s Quite A Pool Float

Cost: $20-$40*
What’s Happening: The Aquaria Pasadena Pool Float

The Aquaria Pasadena Pool Float is an example of how bad products sometimes saunter out of the marketing department unchecked. This pool floatie, which isn’t available on Amazon anymore, looks just like a giant pad.

We’re sure it works fine…once you get past its appearance. It is even colored like a menstrual pad from Tampax, and the resemblance is so uncanny, you might even think the company did it on purpose just to mess with people.

11. Shop ‘Til You Drop

Cost: $0*
What’s Happening: A kid sick of shopping

Shop ‘til you drop takes on a whole new meaning when you’re shopping with kids. “I’m tired,” is a whine you’ll often hear as your kid sullenly plods behind the cart. That’s usually followed by, “Are we done yet?”

Shop 'Til You Drop @imgur/Pinterest Shop 'Til You Drop @imgur/Pinterest

This kid had enough of shopping, clearly. Unable to fit in the cart because of the packs of Coke and Pepsi, he chose to lay down on the bottom of the cart, barely keeping his head from dragging on the floor. Ah, kids. So dramatic.

12. Dads Will Be Dads

Cost: $0*
What’s Happening: A dad watering Walmart’s plants

On X, @djbewbz (funny name, by the way) tweeted that he lost his dad at Walmart. After looking for him, he eventually found him in the gardening section watering the plants. Dads will be dads, after all.

Dads Will Be Dads @imgur/Pinterest Dads Will Be Dads @imgur/Pinterest

It’s the ultimate dad move to see plants at Walmart, Lowes, or Home Depot and decide to put yourself in charge of their maintenance. Lucky this dad was there, else the plants would have gone thirsty. Not on his watch!

13. THIS IS NOT STYLE

Cost: $10*
What’s Happening: A woman very upset about ripped jeans

You know how it is when you wear ripped jeans around your parents or grandparents. They immediately mock and scorn the jeans as though they did something personally wrong. Older people hate ripped pants.

THIS IS NOT STYLE @boredpanda/Pinterest THIS IS NOT STYLE @boredpanda/Pinterest

They think they’re stupid. That said, it’s rare to see a grandma take it this far. This woman made her own sign with a mugshot of ripped jeans. The sign reads, “THIS IS NOT STYLE. THIS IS STUPIDITY!” You tell ‘em, Nana.

14. Extra Extra Suspenders

Cost: $25-$50*
What’s Happening: Too many suspenders

This man clearly doesn’t like to spend money if he doesn’t have to. Jeans too big? Not to worry, as five different suspenders, fitted together like the hoist of a carnival ride, will be the trick to make them fit.

At some point, you have to question whether it’s time to just buy new pants. We all get having a favorite item of clothing, but this probably takes a long time to put on in the morning, beloved or not.
