Just because you’re famous for one thing doesn’t mean that you’re always going to be raking in the dough. Celebrities know this better than anyone, so often branch out into other business areas. Fashion is an obvious choice for many big names and style icons to dive into.

Some of the biggest musicians in the world have multi-million-dollar fashion empires behind them. Jessica Simpson has a billion-dollar empire that could give Amazon’s Jeff Bezons a run for his money, while Bill Murray is swinging high with a very surprising clothing line that no one saw coming.

1. William Murray Golf

Owned by: Bill Murray
Established: 2016
Estimated Value: $70 million*

Bill Murray is a man of many talents. Not only is he side-splittingly funny, but he can swing a golf club like his life depends on it. Bill has been a lover of the sport for years, so it made sense when he launched William Murray golf in 2016 alongside his brothers.

This isn’t your usual golf attire, but bright, bold, and distinctly “Bill” clothing that will put some pizazz in your putting. The shirts aren’t all that expensive but not exactly cheap either, coming in at around $80 a piece. Hats retail for around $40, but the reviews are great.

2. Fabletics

Owned by: Kate Hudson
Established: 2013
Estimated Value: $300 million*

Just like her famous mom Goldie Hawn, Kate Hudson was able to totally dominate Hollywood, starring in plenty of rom coms and a few dramas, to boot. Kate’s acting career is far from over, but she decided to take her love of working out to a different league in 2013.

Her fitness wear line Fabletics has gone from strength to strength since then and is now worth around $300 million. Buyers claim that the material is high-quality and comfortable, but there’s a slight catch – it’s a subscription service. Still, it seems to be serving Kate well.

3. Sofia Jeans

Owned by: Sofia Vergara
Established: 2019
Estimated Value: $20 million*

It’s common knowledge that Sofia Vergara has been killing it in the acting industry for quite some time, thanks to her part in the hit show Modern Family. In 2019, Sofia decided to diversify and sign a deal with Walmart to launch Sofia Jeans.

It was a great move on Walmart’s part as Sofia is such a well-liked celebrity. As for Sofia, she thought it was a great idea, too. In an interview at the time, she praised Walmart for keeping things affordable, “Walmart targets the people who I want to target, which are real people who don’t spend $300 on a pair of jeans.”

4. The Row

Owned by: Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen
Established: 2006
Estimated Value: $200 million*

Mary-Kate and Ashely Olsen’s transformation from child stars to elite fashion designers is something that’s fascinated many people. Just a couple of decades ago it was difficult to avoid seeing the pair on screen, but they’ve since retired from acting and gone on to make money in other ways.

They both founded The Row in 2006, but while it may have started out as a passion project, it turned into something much bigger. It hasn’t always been easy for The Row though, as when Barneys New York filed for bankruptcy it hit the brand hard. Barneys was one of the line’s biggest distributors.

5. Brad Pitt for Brioni

Owned by: Brad Pitt/Brioni
Established: 2021
Estimated Value: $20 million*

Brad Pitt has made his fair share of fashion faux pas, just like the rest of Hollywood. However, for the most part, he’s always exceptionally dressed and immaculately turned out. Fashion house Brioni knows this, which is why Pitt has been a spokesperson for them for several years.

In 2021, the Disney actor went one step further and designed a capsule collection for Brioni that is just as sleek and sophisticated as he is. The 7-piece collection is just enough to prove that when it comes to stylish clothes, Pitt knows exactly what he’s talking about.

6. SJP by Sarah Jessica Parker

Owned by: Sarah Jessica Parker
Established: 2014
Estimated Value: $3 million per year* (Revenue)

Did we expect anything less from Carrie than her own fashion brand? Sarah Jessica Parker, star of Sex and the City, has her own line of shoes, called SJP by Sarah Jessica Parker. You can find these shoes at department stores like Bloomingdales, or you can buy them online at the store’s website.

The line has just about everything you can think of, whether you’re looking for a pair for a night out or a day in. Stilettos, espadrilles, slingbacks—there are tons of different shoes, all with the same Carrie-esque flair that we have grown to know and love over the past few decades.

7. S by Serena

Owned by: Serena Williams
Established: 2021

Serena Williams is one of the greatest athletes of all time—and one of the wealthiest too. She has made hundreds of millions from her partnerships with big-name brands, and, as a result, she knows the clothing industry and how it works.

The tennis star founded her own line of clothing, S by Serena, which sells tops, dresses, outerwear, accessories, and pretty much anything else you can think of. Some might have expected Williams, a star athlete, to go for just athletic clothes, but her line has fits for every body and every occasion, all with the logo #BeSeenBeHeard.

8. Good American

Owned by: Khloe Kardashian
Established: 2016
Estimated Value: $1 million per year* (Revenue)

The media hasn’t always been kind to Khloe Kardashian, especially when it comes to her weight and appearance. Instead of hiding from the spotlight, she decided to tackle issues of body acceptance head-on, founding Good American, a brand that is “committed to challenging” toxic and harmful “industry norms.” She and her co-founder, Emma Grede, started the brand in 2016.

The brand represents body acceptance, and it sells denim, bodysuits, t-shirts, and other clothes and accessories. The brand’s jeans are one of its high selling points, and it carries denim in sizes 00 to 24, perfect for pretty much any body type. Good American has become super popular, not just because it has a Kardashian name attached to it, but because it has such a wide range of figure-flattering clothes.

9. Calia

Owned by: Carrie Underwood
Established: 2014
Estimated Value: $2 billion* (Dick’s Private Label Sales)

Designed by country star Carrie Underwood, Calia is a line of fitness apparel “for your life.” Underwood named the brand “Calia” after the Greek word kallos, which means “beautiful,” and the calla lily flower. The former American Idol winner created the line in partnership with Dick’s Sporting Goods.

Underwood’s brand has athletic gear for all shapes and sizes. The musician is dedicated to fitness, and she wanted to create a clothing line that reflected that passion. Calia is also about one-quarter cheaper than other celebrity-owned brands, which often jack up the prices to capitalize on their name being on the label. Underwood has kept it real, keeping prices steady.

10. Uncommon James

Owned by: Kristin Cavallari
Established: 2017
Estimated Value: $20 million per year* (Revenue)

Kristin Cavallari, star of Laguna Beach and The Hills, isn’t just a scripted-reality veteran, she’s also a fashion designer. Cavallari founded Uncommon James, a jewelry line that turned into an apparel, accessories, and home goods collection.

The line radiates Kristin’s style, as it’s simple, yet elegant. The actress also released Uncommon Beauty, which is a collection of beauty products and skincare that is “clean, simple, [and] effective.” K-Cav’s collection is named after her daughter Saylor James, a middle name that is “uncommon” for a girl. The line is pretty successful, and Cosmo says it brings in $20 million in revenue a year.

11. Secndnture

Owned by: Jordyn Woods
Established: 2018
Estimated Value: Unknown

Reality star (and ex-best friend of Kylie Jenner) Jordyn Woods founded her own brand, Secndnture, which is a line of activewear that has been fueled by social media. It seems like Woods is still taking her cues from Kylie, a master of Instagram marketing, and Woods’ Insta is covered with promos for the line.

The debut line of the brand was a twenty-four-piece collection that Woods made in partnership with Instaco. The line is size-inclusive, ranging from XS to 2X, and Woods says she chose the selection’s unusual name because activewear and athletic gear should “feel like a second skin.”

12. OVO

Owned by: Drake
Established: 2011 (First Clothing Release)
Estimated Value: $50 million per year* (Revenue)

October’s Very Own (OVO) is Drake’s label. In addition to being Drizzy’s own record label, it’s also a line of clothing, hoodies, hats, bags, and more. OVO is a nod to the rapper’s birthday, and the line has been extremely successful. The first product was a tour jacket that had the OVO owl on it.

Since that release in 2011, the brand has grown immensely. The brand partnered with the Toronto Raptors in 2013, and that move put OVO on the global fashion stage. In 2018, the brand exceeded $50 million in annual revenue, making Drake’s label one of the most successful ones on this list.

13. Kendall + Kylie

Owned by: Kendall and Kylie Jenner
Established: 2012
Estimated Value: $400 million* (Revenue)

Kendall and Kylie Jenner are two of the most famous millennials in the world. As part of the famous Kardashian-Jenner clan, the two decided to found their own fashion line, adding another business to the family’s empire. The clothing line, Kendall + Kylie, was founded in 2012, with a successful juniors’ line at Pacsun.

That line took off, and, three years later, the Jenners partnered with Topshop to create a line of Cali-inspired clothes. Now, Kendall + Kylie’s most recent venture is The Drop, which launched in 2020. The Drop is their latest partnership with Amazon, and it includes twenty-six pieces, from bodysuits to white sneakers to tie-dye loungewear.

14. Celinnunu

Owned by: Celine Dion/Nununu
Established: 2018
Estimated Value: $20 million*

Celine Dion is a diva that’s been belting out hits for longer than some of us care to remember. She’s also one of the richest women in the music industry with a staggering net worth of $580 million. With that being said, Celine can afford to be choosy with what businesses she launches.

Celinnunu @pinimg/Pinterest Celinnunu @pinimg/Pinterest

In 2018, she decided to partner up with Israeli brand nununu to make gender-neutral clothing for kids. Speaking to Refinery29 at the time, Celine said, I love fashion, I always have. I like to have fun with it. I love to experiment, to try different things, and keep an open mind.”
