Elon Musk’s company, Tesla, has managed to keep a lot of specs about the 2021 Model Y secret. Amateur video footage was “accidentally” leaked to the press of Tesla testing the Y on the track, and car enthusiasts everywhere were excited about the upcoming changes. The Model Y will have dual-motor, all-wheel driving capabilities.

It will be all-electric. If you are familiar with previous Tesla models, this won’t be completely foreign to you. The Model Y is closely related to the Model 3. The Y shares 75% of the same parts with the 3, except the Y will be larger and more spacious.

You can start placing orders for the 2021 Chevy Tahoe (and the 2021 Chevy Suburban) in mid-2020, according to the car company. The Chevy Tahoe’s newest model will have new features added to it. While many of the car manufacturers on this list are shying away from diesel, Chevy is not.

The Chevy Tahoe will still have a 5.3-liter, 355 horsepower engine, and a 6.2-liter engine. However, now you have the option of adding a 3-liter six-cylinder diesel engine onto your 2021 Tahoe. The 2021 Tahoe also has a ten-speed auto transmission and comes with an all-wheel or rear-wheel drive.

Described by Car and Driver as a “missile,” the 2021 Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 will be up for sale in the fall of 2020, with the first models rolling out in early 2021. This is basically a “couple” version of the superpowered V8 AMG. The GLE 63 has a twin-turbo, four-liter V8 engine with a 48-volt engine attached, making this a hybrid.

The GLE 63 gets 603 horsepower and 627 pound-feet of torque. It will keep the same sloped roofline that you see in other GLE models, but this will be a coupe. It has the most powerful engine available from Mercedes.

Publications that have spotted spy photos of the 2021 Kia Sorento have heaped praise onto the new Kia. The modernized Sorento has a redesigned exterior that is more squared-off and modern-looking. The 2021 Sorento will likely come in the same colors that former Sorento models do.

The 2021 Sorento comes with 227 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. You can select a stronger engine (2.5-liter turbocharged gas) that gets 277 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque. The transmission is an automatic, eight-gear double-clutch. The 2021 Sorento will go on sale sometime in 2021. The exact date (or even a general estimation) is unclear.

There are new versions of not only the Yukon but also the Yukon XL coming out. The 2021 GMC Yukon has an all-new rollout. It will have a more spacious interior, and you can begin ordering your car in mid-2020. The 2021 Yukon has a new option to it: a turbo-diesel engine.

The engines that the Yukon currently has will still be available, so if you have become attached the current V8 gas engines, don’t worry. However, even those V8s will have new, upgraded cylinder-deactivation tech. The exterior changes include brand new sheet-metal, C-shaped tail lamps, and new grille fascia.

The XC40 Recharge from Volvo will be available at $55K, but, if you take the electric tax credit that is available for people purchasing a new, green energy vehicle, that MSRP will be different. The Volvo Recharge requires a $1,000 deposit if you want to take a pre-order spot in line in the US.

The $1K is refundable, however. The Recharge’s specs are impressive. The electric car will get 402 horsepower. It has a 0 to 60 time of 4.7 seconds, and the 78kWh battery pack gives you 248 miles of range. The Recharge already has several thousand pre-orders in Europe.

The Lexus LC 500 Convertible goes on sale in the summer of 2020, and you’ll see the actual rollout about half a year later. This convertible is an expansion of the well-regarded LC 500 model line from Lexus. The touring coupe has been around for a while, so the convertible isn’t anything radically new.

The LC 500 Convertible has a 471-horsepower, 5-liter V8 engine. It has a 0 to 60 time of 4.7 seconds. There is no convertible hybrid in the works yet (or, if there is, Lexus hasn’t announced it). Only 100 blue-and-black models will be made. The rest will have a more standard color scheme.

The 2021 Suburban will start selling in mid-2020. Chevy’s new Suburban joins the Tahoe in a new exterior, along with upgrades under the hood. The 2021 Suburban is an inch longer, and the wheelbase has extended three inches, growing from 130 to 134 inches. There will be two inches of added legroom in the Suburban.

The new Suburban has an option three-liter diesel engine that has six cylinders. You can still order it with the classic 6.2-liter V8 that gets 420 horsepower if you want. There is also a standard V8 that gets 277 horsepower and 460 feet of torque.

The new 2021 Escalade has been given a redesign. The new SUV’s styling comes from the Cadillac Escala concept car. The Escalade will share the same platform as the full-size SUVs from GMC, which means that your new 2021 Escalade will have independent rear suspension. This translates to more interior space.

You can start placing orders for the new Escalade in late 2020. The key feature on the 2021 Escalade is the 38-inch OLED curved screen. The screen will stretch from the left side of the wheel all the way to the middle of the dashboard, giving you almost two feet of screen.

BMW couldn’t allow Tesla to release the Model 3 or the Model Y without competition. The BMW i4 is an electric sedan that is brand new from the luxury automaker. The new i4 will be a flagship vehicle for BMW. The Gran Coupe is a four-door vehicle, and it gets 270 miles of electric range. The i4 comes with an 80kWh battery.

It gets 530 horsepower and 373 pound-feet of torque. The i4 comes straight from i Vision Dynamics, a concept wing of BMW that provides the design inspiration for all the new, electric BMWs. It will have its rollout sometime in 2021.

This is a lighter version of the Alfa Romeo than we have seen previously. The 2021 Alfa Romeo sports car will cost around $50,000 as the base price. It will revive the Giulia nameplate as well, which means that the GTV is making a comeback. The design is sloped and sleek, and the Romeo will definitely come in cherry red.

The 2021 sports car weighs 220 pounds lighter than its predecessors. It gets 546 horsepower and is extremely aerodynamic, with MotorTrend stating that it has “no competition” when it comes to its sleekness. The two-seater will have a top speed of 181MPH.

The 2021 Kia Sorento will be joined by a new Optima. The 2021 Kia Optima is a fifth-generation, mid-size sedan from the Korean automaker. The sedan is getting a new overhaul that will be far sportier than you are used to from the Optima. There are also going to be a lot of luxury options.

The four-door sedan will come with the “Smartstream” engine from Kia. This is a 1.6-liter turbocharged gas engine that gets 177 horsepower and 195 pound-feet of torque. The 2021 Optima will be brand new to this Smartstream engine, which is reportedly eco- and wallet-friendly.

Arriving for orders in the summer of 2020, the Toyota RAV4 Prime is the fastest RAV4 model ever. It is also the most fuel-efficient when compared to its predecessors. The RAV4 has a 0 to 60 time of 5.8 seconds, making it faster than the prior model’s 7.8 seconds. The RAV4 will come with a hybrid plug-in (PHEV) version.

The RAV4 has been a bestseller for Toyota. It is the #4-best-selling car in America right now, and it outsold the entire Toyota Prius family combined. The RAV4 might qualify for a tax credit, but it depends on your particular state.

The 2021 VW Atlas has a fresh face and upgraded technology from Volkswagen. The Atlas was unveiled recently at the Chicago Auto Show in 2020, and its facelift actually makes it resemble its smaller, non-SUV model siblings. The Atlas will now come with upgraded road sign display and traffic jam assistance, in addition to the usual lane-keeping driver-assist features.

The Atlas will still have the same 2.0-liter engine with four cylinders and 235 horsepower. You can also select the 3.6-liter engine with 276 horsepower. Buyers who don’t need that much power now can select from the 4Motion all-wheel-drive engine system.
