Being rich and famous certainly comes with its perks. One of them is the ability to throw a party with whatever theme you like, in whatever location you like, with as many guests as you like without having to worry about a little thing like the bill.

Over the years, businessmen, royals, and A-list stars have pushed the boat out to hold some of the biggest parties the world has ever seen. From 5-day birthday parties that go across the globe to having Sony artists hold a private concert, nothing is off-limits for the world’s elite.

1. Kanye’s 38th Birthday Party

Cost: $110,000*
Location: Staples Center

The Kardashian-Jenner clan aren’t scared to spend money on birthday parties, especially if they’re a surprise. When Kanye West turned 28, his then-wife Kim opted to rent out the Staples Center and surprise Kanye with the entire Lakers team, featuring some guests.

The basketball party saw the entire Lakers squad don “West” jerseys, while Justin Bieber also turned up for the festivities. Kim spent around $110,000 on the surprise bash, but there was more to it. John Legend belted out a tune for his buddy while they all played basketball.

2. Paris Hilton’s 21st Birthday Party

Cost: $75,000 per guest*
Location: Multiple locations across Paris, London, Tokyo, New York, L.A, Las Vegas

When you’re the most famous heiress in the world and you turn 21, it’s going to be a big deal. Paris Hilton found that out for herself when her big day came in 2002. Instead of hosting just one enormous party, Paris invented several friends to party with her on a 5-day trip across the globe.

They stopped in Paris, London, Tokyo, New York, L.A, and Las Vegas. Needless to say, it wasn’t cheap. Each guest reportedly cost $75,000, so the festivities were just as much of a present to them from Paris’ father, Hilton titan Rick.

3. Kate Moss’s 40th Birthday Party

Cost: $100,000*
Location: Kate’s Cotswolds, UK home

It’s true what they say – supermodels really know how to party. As a runway legend, Kate Moss is no stranger to a lavish event. When she turned 40, the star wanted to ring it in by celebrating at her Cotswolds home in the UK. It wasn’t simply dinner and drinks with friends, but a $100,000-dollar shindig.

The celebrations reportedly lasted four days and were more like a festival, with Kate erecting a stage on her property and having some of her famous friends perform. Artists like Sony’s Primal Scream, Massive Attack, and even Oasis got up on the stage.

4. Beyonce and Jay-Z’s Daughter’s First Birthday Party

Cost: $200,000*
Location: Barclays Center

When Beyonce and Jay-Z welcomed their first daughter, Blue Ivy, into the world in 2012, the world was elated. Fans have been fixated on the little tot ever since, but in 2013 that was especially true. Blue Ivy was treated to one heck of a party when she turned one, with Bey and Jay using the nursery at the Barclays Center for the bash.

The entire space was decked out in white and pink roses, but that wasn’t all. Blue got some pretty outrageous gifts as well, including a diamond-encrusted Barbie that cost over $80,000. Over $95,000 was spent on decorations alone.

5. Naomi Campbell 36th Birthday Party

Everyone who’s anyone knows that the place to be is Dubai. It’s a beautiful country with plenty to offer – especially if you’re willing to pay for it. When Naomi Campbell turned 36 in 2006, she jumped on a plane and set up a huge event to celebrate.

The 3-day affair was hosted at the Burj Al-Arab hotel, with the entire facility rented out exclusively for the model and her friends. Each day had a different theme, including Hip Hop, Grand Brazilian Samba, and All White. The overall cost topped $1.8 million – but who’s counting?

6. Kim and Kanye’s Winter Wonderland Christmas Party

Cost: $1.3 million*
Location: Kim and Kanye’s LA home

Kim and Kanye West have one of the most expensive homes in Hollywood, so it’s only right that they make use of the space every once in a while. At one point, they decided to give Kris Jenner a break from hosting the Christmas party and instead threw it at their home.

The very modern bash was full of abstract shapes, faux fur, and futuristic fancies. The Winter Wonderland-themed party wasn’t cheap, coming in at a cost of around $1.3 million. They even managed to rope John Legend into performing. Plenty of photos eventually found their way to Facebook.

7. Lindsay Lohan’s 20th Birthday Party

The entire event was over the top, with the Brooks family hiring out two floors of the Rainbow Room and getting some huge artists to perform. Steven Tyler, 50 Cent, and even Don Henly from the Eagles. Lucky guests even got to take home a gift bag that contained an iPod and other expensive items.

9. Kylie Jenner’s 21st Birthday Party

Travis Scott performed at the party, while comedian Dave Chapelle got the guests rolling on the floor with laughter. All in all, it was a very Instagrammable party that cost Kylie somewhere in the region of $345,000. The bill certainly could’ve been worse.

11. The Sultan of Brunei’s 50th Birthday Party
