The Most Expensive Hollywood Gifts Celebrities Have Given Each Other

Gift: Ernest Hemingway’s typewriter

Brad Pitt and Anglenia Jolie might no longer be together, but when they were an item they hit the headlines all the time. In 2014, they tied the knot after several years of dating. Instead of getting her hubby a new set of cufflinks to remember the special day, Jolie bought Pitt a very special one-of-a-kind item.

The Sony actress reportedly shelled out $250,000 on a typewriter used by famed literary icon Ernest Hemingway. The writer used the typewriter to pen some of his most famous books, including For Whom the Bell Tolls. 

Gift: Cartier diamond emerald-cut ring
Price: $120,000*

When Keith Urban first proposed to Nicole Kidman, he did it in style with a $50,000-dollar ring. However, the actress decided to buy herself a brand new one some time later that was quite different in style. Her previous ring was a round band that was covered in diamonds, but this rock is a huge upgrade.

While the last one certainly wasn’t picked up at Target, the new emerald-cut diamond from Cartier was something else entirely. The ring is one of the prettiest in Hollywood, even if it doesn’t quite match up to Mariah Carey’s $10-million-dollar rock she was gifted when she got engaged several years ago.  

Gift: Bombardier Challenger 850 Learjet

Most dads out there might be used to getting a new pair of socks for Father’s Day, or a new tool to go in the shed, never to be looked at again. However, if you’re Jay-Z, Father’s Day looks a little different. Back in 2012, Beyonce bought her husband a $40-million-dollar private jet to celebrate.

The Bombardier Challenger 850 is equipped with everything you can get on American Airlines, and then some. Jay and Bey have flown in the private jet plenty of times since, using it frequently to get to lavish vacation spots and tours alike, taking their three kids along for the ride.

When it comes to likeable actors, Adam Sandler is up there with the best of the best. Even his co-stars can attest to the fact that he is one of the nicest guys in the business. In 2010, Sandler, who is worth a reported $297 million, allegedly bought the stars of Grown Ups a $250,000 Maserati each.

Sandler just wanted to show his appreciation for his fellow actors. Considering that the movie was made by Sandler’s own Happy Madison Productions in partnership with Sony it’s not hard to see why he wanted to give them a little bonus. The movie did make $271 million at the box office against an $80 million budget.

Price: $1 million

Kim Kardashian may be famous for an interesting reason that many people don’t quite understand, but the reality star has managed to make a business out of being a social media star and personality. A few years ago, Kim was offered $1 million to do a sponsored post with a clothing brand.

As the brand was similar in style to Kanye’s Yeezy clothing line, Kim asked her then hubby what he thought. Kanye ended up saying no, but he wrote Kim a check for $1 million so that she didn’t miss out on the money. That’s a lot of cash, even for a Comcast E! star.

Gift: Private Jet

There’s no doubt that Salma Hayek is a successful actress in her own right, having starred in multiple movies over the course of her decades-long career. However, when she became romantically involved with Francois Henri Pinault a whole new level of luxury opened up to her.

As well as having billions of dollars in the bank, Hayek and Pinault have access to their very own private jet. It’s not clear who bought it for who, but the couple enjoys it together and are often spotted traveling to gorgeous destinations with their daughter, Valentina Paloma.

Courtney Cox and Jennifer Aniston weren’t just friends on-screen. The two stars forged a really strong bond when they worked together on the hit sitcom and have stayed close ever since. The actresses have likely exchanged many gifts over the years, but this one is particularly impressive.

Jennifer confessed that she once told Courtney that she would like to take up bike riding as a hobby. Not long after that conversation, Cox sent her friend an entire bike. It wasn’t just any old two-wheeler from Walmart, but a $12,000-dollar Chanel version.

Since they have been together for over two decades, it’s only natural that David and Victoria Beckham have exchanged a fair few gifts in their time. In fact, Victoria is thought to own 14 engagement rings. On top of that, in 2014 it was reported that David bought his wife a Napa vineyard.

While the exact price of the sprawling estate isn’t known, it’s thought to be a seven-figure sum. That’s an awful lot of money, but then again, David isn’t exactly living off a McDonald’s salary as he makes a cool $35 million a year. It’s thought that the couple is worth a cool $1 billion.

What do you get the woman that has everything? When that woman is Oprah, the question becomes even harder. When Jessica Seinfield appeared on Oprah’s show to plug her book Deceptively Delicious, she wanted to send the host a little thank you token.

Of course, Oprah is worth billions, so deciding what to get must have been a little hard. She didn’t send a tray of Dunkin Donuts, but a selection of high-end shoes. Rumor has it that the collection, which included Christian Laboutin designs, was worth over $20,000.

J-Lo is no stranger to expensive gifts. The superstar has been with some very rich men, including Ben Affleck and Marc Anthony, with whom she shares twins. After J-Lo gave birth to their kids, Anthony reportedly got Lopez a special “push present.”

It wasn’t a new pair of jogging bottoms from Target, but a very expensive canary yellow diamond ring. The relationship wouldn’t last, but luckily for Jen, diamonds live forever. She later went on to get engaged to sporting legend A-Rod, but it wasn’t all sunshine and rainbows there, either.

Jessica Simpson might not be at the pinnacle of her pop career like she was in the noughties, but don’t be fooled by her lack of chart success lately. In her heyday, Jessica wasn’t afraid to splash the cash. In 2009, she bought her then-boyfriend Tony Romo a $100,000 custom-built speedboat.

Their relationship didn’t work out and Simpson later married someone else in 2014, but Romo will always have his speedboat to remember her by. It’s not often someone buys you a boat. Let’s hope the CBS MTV star doesn’t regret buying that very generous gift now.

Just who bought it for who remains unclear, but that doesn’t mean they didn’t both enjoy it. Cruise still flies on his jet now, but Katie Holmes prefers a slightly lower-key life in New York City, where she raises their daughter, Suri. Holmes went on to date actor Jaime Foxx for five years after her split from Cruise.

Angelina Jolie has never been known to be lowkey in romance. During her years with Brad Pitt, Jolie gifted him with many lavish gifts. One of the most interesting items was an entire 200-year-old olive tree which she presented to him in 2010.

The beautiful green tree was installed at their home in Brignol, France, much to the actor’s delight. While some of us might be used to picking up plants at Home Depot, this treasured item was purchased for $18,500. Let’s hope it provided some decent shade.

Kimye might be a thing of the past, but there was a time when Kim and Kanye were head over heels in love. In 2015, the reality TV queen went above and beyond for her husband’s birthday, hiring out the Staples Center for Ye’s birthday bash. As you might have guessed, it wasn’t a cheap event.

Kardashian reportedly spent $118,000 on the event, pulling out all the stops to give West the day of his dreams at the home of the Los Angeles Lakers. Of course, Kim shared plenty of snaps on Instagram so fans knew exactly what went down.
