Man Starts Relationship With Carer – He Realizes It’s Over When She Enters His Cellar 

In the heart of the city, where the buildings stood tall and the streets buzzed with life, lived Mia Fernandez, a caregiver in her 30s. 

She rose with the sun each morning, the soft glow peeking through her curtains, signaling the start of another day.

Mia lived with her sister’s family in a cozy apartment on the outskirts of town. Her sister, Emma, was married to a man named Mark, and together they had two children, Grace, 12, and Ben, 8.

The mornings in their home were full of laughter and chatter. Grace would be getting ready for school, her excitement for the day ahead palpable. 

Ben, ever the early riser, would be engrossed in his latest Lego creation, the pieces clicking together in harmony.

Emma would be bustling around, preparing breakfast and lunches, while Mark would be sipping his coffee, stealing quiet moments before the day’s demands.

After a hurried breakfast and a quick goodbye to her family, Mia embarked on her journey to work. She walked to the subway station, the bustling streets awakening around her. 

The subway ride was a brief respite, a moment of calm before the day’s busyness began. She transferred to two buses, her mind often drifting to the day ahead.

Arriving at the retirement home, Mia was greeted by the familiar faces of her coworkers.

There was Sarah, always cheerful, and David, the practical joker. Mia started her day by checking in on her assigned residents, ensuring they were comfortable and had everything they needed.

One of her favorite residents was Mrs. Jenkins, a lively woman with a penchant for storytelling.

They would often sit together, Mrs. Jenkins regaling Mia with tales of her youth, her eyes sparkling with memories. However, not all interactions were as pleasant. 

Mr. Thompson, a man of few words, often seemed agitated and unapproachable. Mia tried her best to engage him in conversation, but his gruff demeanor made it challenging.

At the end of her shift, Mia made her way back home. The journey was long, but she found solace in the rhythm of the bus and the comforting familiarity of the streets.

The evenings were filled with laughter as the kids shared the most memorable parts of their days while the family sat down for dinner.

One day, as Mia was preparing to leave, a new face appeared in the reception area. A middle-aged man stood, his eyes scanning the room until they landed on Mia. 

With a smile, he approached her, accompanied by his mother. Both of whom had just been welcomed as the newest residents of Dawn’s New Horizon Luxury Retirement Living.

As Helen and Frank entered the reception area, Mia smiled warmly at them.

“Welcome to Dawn’s New Horizon Luxury Retirement Living. I’m Mia. If there’s anything you need, just ask.”

Helen appeared fragile, leaning lightly on a cane, her silver hair neatly coiffed. Frank, on the other hand, exuded a quiet confidence, his demeanor relaxed yet attentive.

Helen spoke first, her voice soft but clear. “We’re here to check in. Under the name Helen Beaumont.”

“Move-in. We’re here to move in, mum. Not to check in. This isn’t a hotel. It’s where we live now.” Mia nodded, checking her records. 

“Ah, yes, Mrs. Beaumont. Welcome! We’re delighted to have you with us. And you must be…?”

“Frank. Frank Beaumont,” he replied, his voice smooth and measured. Mia led them through the move-in process, explaining the facilities and amenities available.

As they walked, Frank occasionally interjected with questions, showing a keen interest in the details. Once everything was settled, Mia handed them their keys. 

“Your apartment is on the third floor, Apartment 312. I’ll take you there if you’d like.” “That would be lovely, thank you,” Helen said, smiling gratefully.

As they walked to the elevator, Frank engaged Mia in conversation, asking about her role at the retirement home and expressing his appreciation for the care they provided.

“You seem quite knowledgeable about the workings here,” Mia remarked, noticing his attention to detail. Frank chuckled lightly. “I suppose I am. 

My mother and I have been researching retirement communities for a while now. We wanted to find the best fit for her.”

They reached Apartment 312, and Mia opened the door, revealing a cozy living space with a view of the garden courtyard.

“Here we are,” Mia said, stepping aside to let them enter. “I hope you find everything to your liking, Mrs. Beaumont.”

Helen smiled warmly. “It’s perfect, thank you, Mia.” Frank stepped forward, offering his hand. “Thank you for your assistance, Mia. We appreciate it.”

“I’ll be down to register myself and get my keys as well once I get my mum settled.” As Mia left, she couldn’t shake the feeling that there was more to Frank than met the eye. 

Over the following months, Mia and her colleagues noticed a distinct presence in the halls of Dawn’s New Horizon Luxury Retirement Living—Frank Beaumont. 

He was always on the move, chatting with residents and showing a genuine interest in their stories and well-being.

Frank had his own apartment, separate from his mother’s, but he made it a point to spend as much time as possible with her. 

Mia often saw Helen during meal times, sitting at a table with Frank, their bond evident in the way they laughed together and shared stories.

Frank’s presence was intriguing to the employees of Dawn’s New Horizon. His demeanor was always calm and friendly, and he had a way of making everyone feel at ease.

Mia, in particular, found herself drawn to Frank’s kindness and attentiveness to his mother. She admired the way he cared for Helen, always ensuring she was comfortable and had everything she needed.

One day, as Mia was making her rounds, she noticed Frank sitting with Mr. Thompson, the resident who was usually reserved and unapproachable.
