We all love our grandparents, as technology-deficient and old-fashioned as they may be. Grandparents are an irreplaceable part of our lives, and they instill a lot of wisdom – and humor – in our day-to-day existence.

Let this list serve as a reminder to call your grandparents! These photos consist of an array of the funniest grandma and grandpa moments on the internet. Get ready to laugh your way through this LOL-worthy collection.

1. Grandpa Hates Painting Class

What Happened: A sullen grandpa
Est. Cost: $25-$50 for the class*

Well, he was able to paint his letters quite artistically, though we doubt Grandpa is going to have a career as a PARA animator anytime soon. This grandad was tasked with going to a painting class.

He did not want to go, which makes us think either Grandma or his kids made him. He chose to express his dissent artistically, painting a giant, black “NO!” on a yellow canvas (but he did add a flower, though!).

2. No Ripped Jeans Around Grandma

What Happened: Grandma hates ripped jeans
Est. Cost: $0 to fix*

Grandparents (and parents, the older they are) do not understand ripped jeans. What is the point, they say, of buying ripped jeans from Amazon or Kohls or wherever, as that’s purchasing a soiled product?

This grandma was not having it, and she took it upon herself to fix her granddaughter’s or grandson’s ripped jeans. Armed with a needle and thread, she patched up the hole for good, putting an end to the ripped jeans trend.

3. Grandma’s Butter Dish

What Happened: A repurposed iPhone case
Est. Cost: $600 for the phone*

Well, this is just a smart way to upcycle someone. As those of us with iPhones know, iPhones are usually packaged in a large, plastic container with a clear lid. To a grandma, that’s a prime butter dish.

That’s what this person’s nana did when she turned her iPhone 5 case into a butter dish. You can’t argue with it, as it appears it works well, housing the butter just as well as it did the $600 phone.

4. Oh No

What Happened: An errant fart
Est. Cost: Priceless

The caption on this photo explains why grandma looks like she’s in the front row of an AMC theater watching a horror movie. According to the person who posted it, his dad was to blame.

His dad “farted” while he was taking a picture of his grandmother, causing grandma’s expression to reflect disgust and awe. You can tell that she gave her son a hiding after this rude incident.

5. Fair Point, Grandma

What Happened: Grandmas on Facebook
Est. Cost: $0*

Grandparents and Facebook is a tale as old as time. They aren’t the most technologically adept group of people, and that sometimes is very evident in the way they use the social media platform.

“I HATE WAKING UP,” this woman posted, only to have Grandma swoop in with a harsh reality check. Though Grandma agreed that waking up sometimes is rough, she pointed out it was better than not waking up at all. Fair point, grams.

6. Fast Car

What Happened: No Granny-driving here
Est. Cost: $68,300 for a 2024 Corvette*

When you think of “granny driving,” you probably picture someone in a little, brightly-colored tin can of a car, just petering down the road as slow as they can go. They don’t care how annoying that is.

Not this grandma. According to the person who posted this image, their grandma drives this Chevy Corvette. She’s 67 (so, not too old), and she added this funny sign to her mirror just to remind us how much faster than us she is.

7. Grandma’s Dolly Parton Cactus

What Happened: Cactus-turned-dolly
Est. Cost: $20 to put together*

Who doesn’t love Dolly Parton? It’s hard to find a soul with a negative word to say about Dolly and her blonde hair and glamorous looks. In addition to making awesome music, Dolly is also famously kind and charitable.

This grandma loves Dolly so much that she turned her cactus, perhaps a specimen purchased from Home Depot or Lowe’s, into Dolly, complete with a blue bikini top, sunglasses, and a glam cowboy hat.

8. Medieval-Themed Wedding Attire

What Happened: Grandpa dressed in medieval attire
Est. Cost: $50-$100 to make*

There are a lot of different themed weddings out there. Just go on Google and search “wedding themes,” and you’ll come up with thousands of unique, strange, and fun ways to tie the knot.

These people had a medieval-themed wedding (not too uncommon a theme if you can believe it), and Grandpa wasn’t playing around with his costume. He showed up in this, ready to party with his faux-horse.

9. Waiting For Each Other

What Happened: A miscommunication
Est. Cost: N/A

Clearly, these two weren’t relying on the Verizon or AT&T network to put them in touch with each other. According to the person who shared this photo, these grandparents were supposed to meet each other at this tree.

They did … but on opposite sides. You can imagine the bickering that went down once they realized they were next to each other the whole time – you have to wonder how long it took them to figure it out!

10. “Where’s The Body?”

What Happened: A confused grandma
Est. Cost: $345 billion a year to treat Alzheimer’s in America*

Alzheimer’s is a terrible disease, causing brain cell connections to degenerate over time. People lose their memory, as well as important mental functions, and all you can do is just love the person while they have it.

This person understood that. They invited their grandma with Alzheimer’s to their wedding, and their grandma showed up and had a great time! She did, however, ask, “Where’s the body?” the entire time, which was a tad shocking, said the poster.

11. Completing Her Puzzle

What Happened: Grandma has a puzzle spatula
Est. Cost: $1-$5*

This is a pretty clever way to put together a puzzle, and all you need is a cheap $1 spatula from Walmart. This grandma loves puzzles (a common grandparent hobby, for sure), and she came up with a way to make them easier.

Rather than stress out her finger joints by plucking individual pieces from the table, she uses a spatula to get them out of the way. Her puzzle spatula has saved her arthritis quite a bit over the years, surely.

12. Grandma Thought It Was A Cross

What Happened: Accidental Minecraft worship
Est. Cost: $15-$30 on Amazon*

Minecraft came out in 2011, and people have been obsessed with it ever since. You can build entire worlds with this sandbox game, and it is especially popular with younger people, like millennials.

It’s not something grandparents are too aware of. For example, Grandma somehow got into contact with a Minecraft sword and thought it was a cross, so she hung it on her wall for all to see.

13. It’s Okay, Grandpa Pete

What Happened: Grandpa bought A flatscreen
Est. Cost: $500-$1,000*

“Sorry, I had planned to add a little to the check this year, but I decided to buy myself a new TV. Love, Grandpa Pete.” Well, you can’t argue with that, can you? This Christmas card came courtesy of a grandfather with a new television.

At least he’s honest. Rather than let anyone think he’s hurting for cash, Grandpa Pete let his grandkids and kids know that, while he had money, he wanted to spend it on a flatscreen. Gotta treat yourself!

14. Grandpa Discovered Photoshop

What Happened: A remake of “American Gothic”
Est. Cost: $22.99 a month for Photoshop*

Grandparents usually tend to stay unaware of technology, but, when they cross paths with it, the results are hilarious. This grandpa discovered Photoshop, and he immediately took to it.

He photoshopped himself into “American Gothic,” a painting by Grant Wood that is one of the most famous pieces of art of all time. The painting is hanging in Chicago now, but this isn’t a bad substitute.
