Boy Brings Grandma’s Book Into Pawn Shop, He’s Floored When Expert Says This 

The Milton family gathered somberly at the funeral home, surrounded by the sweet scent of lilies and roses, to bid farewell to their beloved matriarch, Grandma Eleanor Milton. 

Grandma Eleanor had passed away peacefully in her sleep, surrounded by her children: Beth-Anne, Matthew, Suzanne, and Sammy, and their families.

She shared stories of Grandma Eleanor’s life, painting a vivid picture of the woman she had been. As Beth-Anne spoke, tears welled up in the eyes of many, touched by her words.

The Milton’s gathered on the 14th day after Grandma Eleanor’s passing, the family held their traditional dinner to celebrate her life. 

They rented out a beautiful party hall with high ceilings and elegant chandeliers, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The hall was decorated with photos of Grandma Eleanor and her family, along with her favorite flowers, creating a sense of nostalgia.

As the family enjoyed a meal together, laughter and chatter filled the air.

The grandkids ran around, playing games and sharing stories of their own. Jamie, the youngest grandchild, sat with his cousins, listening intently to their tales.

After dinner, the family settled into their seats, and Beth-Anne stood up to read Grandma Eleanor’s last will and testament. 

With much anticipation, each family member listened as Beth-Anne began to read aloud Grandma Eleanor’s final wishes.

Beth-Anne started with the gifts for her siblings. Matthew, the eldest, was left Grandma Eleanor’s cherished family heirloom—a vintage pocket watch that had been passed down through generations. 

Suzanne received Grandma Eleanor’s pearl necklace, a symbol of elegance and grace. Sammy was bequeathed Grandma Eleanor’s beloved recipe book, filled with her favorite recipes and culinary secrets.

Next, Beth-Anne moved on to the grandchildren. Courtney, the oldest grandchild, inherited Grandma Eleanor’s antique sewing machine, a testament to her love of sewing and crafting.

Ethan received Grandma Eleanor’s collection of classic vinyl records, a nod to his love of music.

Noah received Grandma Eleanor’s gardening tools, a reminder of the time they had spent together in the garden.

And finally, Jamie, the youngest grandchild, was given the collection of old books. As the evening came to a close, the Milton family exchanged farewells and headed home. But all Jamie could think about was why everyone got such great things, and he got her old books.

A month had passed since Grandma Eleanor’s funeral, and life for the Milton family was slowly returning to normal. 

However, for Jamie, the youngest grandchild, there was still one thing weighing on his mind—the collection of old books that had been left to him in Grandma Eleanor’s will.

One afternoon, as Jamie sat in the living room reading, the doorbell rang. He looked up to see a deliveryman standing on the porch with five large boxes.

“Hi there,” the deliveryman said with a smile. “I’ve got a delivery for a Jamie Milton.” “That’s me,” Jamie replied, his heart racing with excitement.

With his dad’s help, Jamie carried the boxes down to the basement, where they carefully opened them up. Inside were rows and rows of old books, their pages yellowed with age and their covers worn from years of use.

Jamie’s eyes widened with anticipation as he picked up the first book and began to flip through its pages. 

But as he read through the titles and scanned the pages, he couldn’t help but feel a sense of disappointment. “These are all just old books,” Jamie said with a sigh. 

“I was hoping for something more exciting.” His dad put a hand on his shoulder, trying to comfort him.

Jamie nodded, trying to muster up some enthusiasm. He continued to sift through the first box of books, hoping to find something that would capture his interest. 

But as he reached the bottom of the box, he realized that most of the books were just old novels and textbooks, nothing like the adventurous tales he had been hoping for.
